Well, I have 2 bunnies and I have been wondering what breeds they might be?

I will start with Buttercup. Buttercup is a 7-9month old doe. And I went to a show, and the judge said that she looked like a Lynx rabbit. And he said that he breeds Lynx Rabbits. So is "Lynx" a breed or a color? And what breeds do you think she looks like? Here she is:

^^ There she is when she is little. She is the fawn colored one.

Now, on to Sampson. Sampson is a 2-3month old buck. I'm not sure who told me but, they said he looked like a one-maned lionhead. But I'm not sure. He is still very small. Any thoughts on him?

Here he is:

^^ And yes, I know about the green stuff under his nose. These are older pics of him.

I don 't have many pics of Sampson. But I'll try to get more pics of him if they are needed.

Thanks so much,

Karlee

Kar, try getting one of Butter typed out. I still think she looks like a Flemish Giant. She is as big as one and types out, lays and looks just like one.

I know, I have a picture of her on Emi's lap that makes her look like a Flemish, but I think I deleted it. :(And I can't find the cord to my camera. But I'll take pictures of her tomorrow typed out like a Flemish.

Buttercup doesn't look like a flemish to me - the head and ears don't look right. Then again - I could be wrong...Zeus is half flemmie and while Tiny was flemmie - I always felt he had nice big ears for one. Then again - that is before I saw pictures of flemmies with really big ears.

Oops - Sampson looks like a single-mane lionhead that either has the dwarfing gene or is half nethie or something (to get that small).

Definitely not breeder quality but adorable as a pet and probably for show in the pet category!

I'm not sure either Tiny'sMom. She has really thick ears though. Because when I took her to go eat her ear tattooed, they couldn't use the clamp because it could't go through her ears. They had to use the pen.

About Sampson- I think someone on here told me that. But I'm not sure who. I think he does have a dwarfing gene or something because he is reall small.

I don't know how big Buttercup is from the pictures but she kind of looks like a thrianta to me.

I have a thrianta who looks just like that only his ears are a little shorter.

Butter weighs about 9 lbs now, or so. In April at a show she weighed 7lbs 7oz. She's def. a big girl.

As for Thrianta, I don't think she resembles one much. She isn't that dark colouring, she's fawn, not orange/reddish.

She is not a Flemish...too small. She is definitely not a Thrianta as they are a deeper red. She almost resembles a Palomino. The judge could have meant that she looks like a Lynx Palomino meaning Lynx is the color. Pals get to 10 pounds so she could be.

As for Sampson, he is too small to tell. Needs some growing up to do. Could be a Lionhead though.

Sharon

Oh I forgot all about Palomino's but now that you mention it, yeah, she does look like a palomino.LOL

I went to a show once with a whole bunch of palominos there. I came in the door from lunch and all these fawn rear ends were in the judging coop and I panicked. Told my daughter to get our junior fawns on the table NOW.

Got up there and the judges were actually working on senior palominos. I was so embarrassed.

From the rear especially, Palominos look very much like small giants.

WeedFlemishGiants: That link you gave me, Buttercup has the faceand the earsof those rabbits, but not the coloring.

So it sounds like she could be a mix between and Thrianta and a Pal?

Elf Mommy: Really? That's cool, so maybe she is a Pal...

BlueGiants: Thanks. I love her coloring the best. And because she pretty big. :pI love big bunnies.

StarLight Rabbitry: I will try to get more pics of him today, then post them. He is very small for whatever he is.
