Well Abby was out for her floor time and my youngest son let Tony out to play also and the next thing I knew Abby was chasing him. She grabbed his back hair and held on. I was chasing them around in circles while my son laughed thinking we were funny looking and I'm sure we were but I was mad at Abby for hurting the new baby even though he is 3 times her size.

The fight got much worse though when Tony turned back on her and then it got really ugly. He literally slung her off and then jumped on her and held her down while thumping her with his hind legs. I was so scared for her because she started screaming. I finally got a hold of him and put him in his cage quickly and looked for Abby. She was hiding in my closet and trembling. I talked to her and she came out on her own and climbed on my lap. She is missing hair in quite a few spots and lots on her belly area where his hind legs were doing their work. Amazingly there is no blood on either that I have noticed and no bald patches on his back at all, just on lil' Abby.

I feel horrible as I yelled at my son but I have just finished calmly explaining to him why he can't let Tony out when Abby is out. She is actually staying close to me now and keeps licking my hands. My poor, poor little heathern.

I wanted to ask if there is anything I should watch for in regards to them. Poor Abs definetly got the worse for this match up. I feel absolutely horrible that I didn't see him until he ws right in front of us (me and Abby).

Oh no :nerves1...... Little Abby thought she was Superwoman til he went went Superman on her. Poor babies. Both of them are probably scared to death. Glad their ok.

twenty eight sharp teeth, and they can go deep..inspection a must, check all toe nails, they bleed when broken/off,,,watch their behavior,,eating drinking,pooping//,and now we know they don,t get along,,ouch,.my 3yr.old cottontail-(2.5#)-defended his territory against our 9 month old-(8#)- tabby cat,and won-but lost a right-rear toe nail and i am lucky he did not bleed to death,.sincerely james waller

I have checked them over thuroughly and nothing seems amiss. Thank god.
Would you believe that my little she devil chucked her teeth together at Tony when we passed his cage on the way to hers and then thumped at him from across the room. What a lil he** raiser. Lol.

something that a wise person on this forum told me after my bunnies had been in a fight was that often you can't tell for a few days if they have bled until it scabs a day or two later. so you want might to check them over again in a few days.

when mine fought, I was just hoping that I was more traumatised than they were. I hope in this case that they are not as shaken up as you, although it also sucks that you had to witness that of course! not sure if that is coming out as I mean it to, I hope you know what I mean!

This is SO true! My Toby has been in a few scraps, and I never noticed until later (even after extensive body checks). A day or two after a scrap, I sit the rabbit on my lap and slowly work my fingers through their fur while feeling for scabs. Since the undercoat can hide scabs, I kind-of run my fingers against the way the hair grows. It fluffs up the coat and sometimes you can feel the scabs better. I hope that helps!

Poor babies (and poor you!)

0.0 Oh my goodness! That must have been terrifying! I've only heard a rabbit scream once, and I will never forget it. I'm glad they are both okay. It's weird to think that such small, normally docile creatures can do things like that!

But LOL at silly Abby afterwards, trying to act all big when she was just totally owned by Tony. Girls!
