I finally figured one of the things that compells us to have pets.

I have two large litterboxes in my room for the cats (all fiveof them) that need to be emptied at least twice a week, and scoopedalmost every day (the things they don't tell you aboutfostering). Anyway...

I was a bit tired from a weekend with youth group kids, and lots ofhomework, hunched over scooping....well, you know, from theselitterboxes, grumbling to myself about how I really, really hatedoing this, and I look up...

And there's a cat, four kittens, and two bunnies, sitting therewatching me with rapt attention, like I was doing the most amazingthing in the world. Just in awe.

I finished, sat down for a minute, and Peanut ran over, put her twofront feet on my knee, and gave me the sweetest gaze. And that's whenit came to me: who else would you in such high esteem for simplyscooping a litterbox?

They love and appreciate you. :)

Yeah, they're great for the ego :D:cool:

Doesnt it make you feel wonderful! Evenif you are doing a menial task such as litterbox scooping can makethose bunnies and kitties love you even more!

I love having pets, espeically as a kid, whodosen't have lots offriends, and parents who work a lot, they're there, to keep you company, and they rely on you, making youfeel needed. I love it.:D

Sometimes the petsare the only gratitude one gets! Face it, the hubby and kids sure don'tlook at you like that when you do things for them!

No, but they always seem to notice when you don't do something, don't they? ;)
