Well.. Me and my Dad are going to be building a rabbit shed this summer, andI was wondering if anyone had ideas for a shed. Like what do your sheds have in them, shelfs, set ups, etc. Because I'm a newer rabbit owner, so I don't have expirence in building a shed. So if you have any ideas about what I should put in my shed when I build. :)Thanks.

I'd consider making it more of a run than a shed (although that completley depends on your weather conditions) You could make a shed shape, but with wire walls, and a felted roof. At one end you would have the door and at the other end a built in hutch, like maybe 2 storeys (shelving with wire closeable doors on each) One could have a solid door as a bedroom. If you do that then you can lock the bunny indoors but they have freerun.

You'll of course need a few windows and shelves definatelly might be nice to stack stuff on .You'll also want a light it makes those latenight doe checks much easier.I might also suggest one of those vents that go in the ceiling I dont have one in my current shed but was planning on putting one in my new shed. Also somepower outlets are always great to have if you can do it.

Here is my rabbit shed pictures.

I built new rabbit cages on the floor so when i clean them out i can let bunnies out to play.

Each cage is 4 ft long by 30 inches wide by 3 ft tall.

Just finished building them today so nothing else is in them yet.

First will show you the walls of my rabbitry

I think what she's wanting is a shed to keep her bunnies' hutches in. They are already outside and she lets them come out and play and all.

Love4Bunnies, those are cool cages! Karlee, you could do something like that, but make the cages bigger and taller. Love4bunnies, what are the dimensions on those and what breeds do you have? those cages look quite small....do you let your bunnies have lots of run-time?

Hi,

Thank you all very much.

The cages are 4 foot long by 30 inches wide by 3 ft high.

My rabbits are outdoors right now in big runs so that is why i decided to build these cages in barn for them for winter as i live inNova Scotiaand winters are very cold here.

Before i built these they were in 2 ft x 2 ft wire cages and i didn`t like them(felt sorry for them).

I have Holland Lop bunnies.

I just used wood and wire to build them.I put thick chipboard on floor.

Undecided what to put over the chipboard to keep the pee from soaking in to it.

Yes i will be letting my bunnies out a lot now that i have my cages on the floor.

Thanks again.:)

Love4Bunnies- Polly, in that link that I have at the top, uses linoleum (sp?) to put down on the wood. I think that is brilliant. It would be so easy to clean; just spray it off with a hose!

I love looking at pictures of everyone's rabbitries and sheds. They are so cool. Yours is absolutely amazing, and I'm jealous!! lol:)
