Hello to all! Well, having never dealt with or really been around bunnies, this has certainly been an experience. These 2 bunnies have captured our hearts and are being spoiled....hehehehe

Please meet Little Girl (left) and Vanilla....

We started out with one of the Living World cages and found our VERY quickly that the cage was just not going to suffice. So after looking at Craigslist, ebay, etc for cages, I came across the NIC cage pictures, ideas, and plans....oh my my!! Our imaginations just ran wild! I will post more detailed pictures of the cage but here's a "large overview" LOL.... Needless to say... the girls are loving their new home.

Congratulations on adopting a bonded pair. They look so happy together & the setup is great. You might find a dig box useful. My Honey also likes tearing up big sheets of brown packing paper & then the pieces going a big box for digging until they fall apart.

How old are they?

Thanks all! This picture was actually taken while we were still putting the cage together so there's nothing in it. They now have all the comforts of home, including art on the walls. Updated pictures to be posted soon.

We do have a digging box for them. As a matter of fact tonight they got a special treat with a box full of shredded (Machine shredded) paper.... Oh my what fun they are having!! And what a mess we have to clean up!! LOL.
:shock::biggrin:

We were very lucky! These bunnies actually came from a neighbor a few streets over who apparently "let their animals" escape from their yard. Vanilla was the first to show up then Little Girl came along about 3 weeks later. It was extremely obvious that they knew each other as soon as we put them together. My next door neighbor adopted a puppy that was also from the same house who was found wandering the local yards (and had been for awhile). The "owner" finally came forward a week after the puppy was missing. A "found dog" sign had been posted across the street from his house but it took him an entire week to step forward. When he did step forward the conversation immediately turned to the fact that he wanted to "sell" the puppy. It's sometimes a very sad world out there.

It was also obvious that these bunnies were not exactly well taken care of...very dirty, matted and skinny. As general animal lovers, they both just melted our hearts upon sight. They came into our house that already has 2 dogs, a cat and a bird and they became immediate friends with all of them! Amazing to say the least!

We are all very happy fate brought these girls to us :)

Let them do the shredding next time. It won't be that small, but will be small enough for security. Honey has her front paws on part of the paper & her mouth on another & rips away. It should be even easier with 2 rabbits to share the 'job', lol.
