Every now and again, my 6 year old rabbit will not eat her cecetropes. I increase hay, decrease veggies, problem goes away. This morning at around 11, I woke up and Daisy's bed was COVERED in loose fecal matter. It wasn't diarrhea. I let her out of the kennel, and eventually I was covered in fecal matter. Gross, right? I cleaned everything up and bagged it to send to the vet for examination. But, I noticed she was eating hay, she was drinking water, she was hopping around, she was very alert, normal self. I stayed up for an hour watching her and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. It was just a big blowout I suppose. I went back to bed, let her go back in her kennel. I woke up the next morning and noticed her fecal matter was back to normal. I found a couple clumps of night feces but nothing more, which is normal for her. My question is: was this a one time thing? She's got a Dr. appointment on Saturday to treat a yeast infection in her ear. Do you think the fecal examination can wait until Saturday?

Have you started feeding veggies again after the last time this happened? She may just be sensitive to some of the veggies she's being given. Maybe hold off on the veggies and feed more hay, and see if that helps.
