Hello all,
This is my first ever post here...I am a 4-H rabbit project leader, andam trying to find an answer for my kids in the rabbit project.
One of my kids said the rabbit judge asked I believe what thedifference was in the English or British way to pose a rabbit. We'venot been
able to locate an answer. Can anyone shed some light on this for us??
Thank you.

"All in a Pose" by Judy Le Marchant ofEngland,is an excellent article published in the ARBA'sDomestic Rabbit publication May-June 2004. The articleexplores the different styles of posing rabbits including the American,British and European poses.

We Amercians pose the rabbits "as if they were assessing it as apotential joint of meat". We place much emphasis on thehindquarters of a rabbit and pose them to achieve "ultimate depth" overthe loin and hindquarter.

The British pose the rabbits flatter in order to better assess thecoat, much as a furrier would. Less emphasis is placed on thehindquarters of the rabbit.

The European pose "shows off the rabbit as through it was a sculpture,a thing of beauty", and have most of their rabbits standing up on thetable.
