3 Weeks Early...

Tonight my Holland lop doe gave birth to one deformed kit. but she's 3 1/2 weeks early. This is her first litter, I'm pretty sure she gave birth around 8:00, give or take a few minutes. Is this the only kit she is going to have? :/
Is there any way to tell is she is going to have more kits? :?

3 1/2 weeks early? sound like an abort do you have a picture of it? I know that sounds gross. I had a doe that would only have one deformed kit at 35 days. If you don't have a picture can you describe it-length and what it looks like. When Angie kindled, the baby was usually larger, but really long. Her kits would look like my V-Lop babies(long and thinish) and she was a holland lop. . . so she could just be a bad mother and over due for that kit. Was she ever bred before?

yes, she's 3 1/2 weeks early. This is her first time being bred. I just went and took some pictures.. here they are.

About how big is it? It she homegrown, or did you buy her? What age did you buy her?

I ask because you easily could have been lied to if you bought her, and it could have been a retained kit from a previous attempt.

ETA: A kit would NOT be that well formed at 1/2 week gestation. You can't even feel them at that point. Really sounds (and looks) like a retained kit.

it does look retained. angie always went to day 35 or 36 and wouldn't kindle, she would retain it. she was probably bred early and never kindled until you tried to breed her this time around, and sort of encourage the labor.
