Hey there all!
Have been looking for a bunny forum to join for awhile and this place seems to be the one!
Ok so a little bit about myself and my bunny history! I started off with 2 baby girls, Zelda and Peach. A couple of weeks later I found a little boy in a friends back yard. Named him Keiko. For a few years I was breeding little babies. Loved it! To watch them grow up from day one and then be taken home but families to be loved.
I ended up keeping 2 of the boys from Zelda's first litter. Named them Sprocket and Star(thought he was a girl). He ended up getting vertigo at about 10 weeks old. Vet told me he wouldn't make it. I refused to believe her. Convinced her to let me give him antibiotics for a month. So after 2 months of having to inject him every day, he was about 95% back to normal. We grew a strong bond. His slight head tilt just made him that extra bit more adorable!
Recently there was a huge myxomatosis out break in my area. Keiko was first infected. He put up a good fight but the virus shut his system down. I was worried Sprocket was infected to as he was showing ab normal behavior. I took him to the vet the day Keiko died. 2 days later both Zelda and Star both showed the puffy eyes. Star pretty much gave up trying to fight when I took sprocket from his cage (They had been together since birth). His passing broke my heart. 3 days after that I took Zelda to the vet to say my good byes...
It's only been about 3 weeks but I think about them everyday. I miss them so much. Poor Sprocket is all alone. However I'm glad to have had him live. We call him the soul survivor.
So that's me story! Hope to hear about everyone's stories!
