I have two 10 week old baby bunnies I received from a lady that bred her Mini Rex's for her Grandson and neither one of us could sex them. We thought we picked a male and female.I took them to the Vet yesterday to find out that I have two Boys. I plan to have them neutered at 6 months as soon as the vet will do it but will they really fight to the death in the mean time? Thanks for your advise Gwen

You might have to separate them for a month or 2 before the surgeries. But that can be necessary even if one were a female, for a somewhat different reason.

How rabbit get along really depends on the individual rabbits. Some will never get along, even if spayed or neutered and given tons of time to get to know each other. Others get along perfectly and something even if they are intact. I do know some people who have intact males who get along as well as people who have neutered rabbits who hate each other.

I would separate them fairly soon to avoid any fights. Rabbits do hold grudges, so if they start to fight if can mean they will remember it and still fight after neutering. You can keep the cages close to each other and even have play dates so they stay familiar with each out bit don't get the chance to fight.

Once both are neutered, you will want to wait a few weeks for them to heal and for the hormones to calm down. You can then work on bonding them.

I got Kreacher and Dobby at 8 weeks, and had no problem with aggression until 4 months. That's when the circling, mounting, and Kreacher's nipping became very noticeable. Got really bad by the time they were neutered (close to 5 months) to a point I had to take Kreacher out of the crate. And now knowing about bunnies hold grudges (thanks Kate for your post) I see why my two litter mates didn't get along. Looking back, after they were neutered, they were alright together, but eventually that grudge surfaced again. As a newbie, didn't really know the signs. But then again hindsight is 20/20. Learned something. Thanks.

Gwen, Wishing you all the luck with your two boys. Let us know how it goes.

K :)
