10 Days To Go before I collect my baby !

*chuckle* This is awful! I am as excited as a child at Christmas ! We ALLare, even Hannah (elder daughter 17) and Mike (patient hubbie).

I keep getting e mails from Richard (thebreeder) who tells me that my baby is eating everything in sight andhas an excellent temprement; and I just want to go down to Huntingdonand collect him NOW, this MINUTE!

As most of you will know, on March 17ththis year, Felix, my little man, and greatly loved Netherland Dwarf,found it was his time to cross the bridge. I can see him nowin my mind's eye, on hind legs and peeping down on me. I misshim horrendously, but I know he wont be coming back. He lefta space in my heart, that can only be filled by bringing another bunnyinto my life ... oh yes, he knew what he was doing when he entered mylife !! He's made it so that I don't think I couldEVER be without a bun as a member of The Fry family!!

I knowI did theright thing in not getting another rabbit right away, because I think Iwould have felt guilty; that I was replacing Felix, which I'm obviouslynot, but I needed time to grieve for Felix and to stamp upon my mindthat he had "gone!"

There were only two bucks in Simba andFern's litter ... BENJi being one, and the other which Richard iskeeping ... so, we've been able to get pics of BENJi from when he wasaround 3 weeks of age.

I almost feel like I know him already!! The days are going SO slowly and I have to keeppopping to the local Garden Centre/Pet Centre to ask for a cuddle ofthe rabbits there! (How sad!)

So far we have bought: Toys,Food (that we were told he was eating at the moment), a newbowl. We've got to get a cage but are leaving that till theweekend to give us something to do.

I'm very interested in knowing where youget your medicine supplies from? And what I should try andget to keep in the cupboard, just in case.

I need help to pass these next 10 days.... perhaps I could use this thread as a "journal?"

Saffy, Benji is absolutelyprecious. I'm so jealous lol I have to wait until July. I know what youmean about waiting. You're almost done waitingthough Yeah.

I get my Ivermectin, which you need to be so careful with, frommy local feed store. Nutrical and dried papayafrom the petstore. The rest of it believe it or not from like Walmart. Sterile eyewash, infant gas drops, guaze, triple antibiotic ointment(Neosporin),peroxide, stuff like that.

Grocery store for canned pumpkin and pineapple juice.

I am so super excited for you. Benji is going to the best home I can imagine.

We can compare notes as Benji grows. I didn't get to seePebbles as a baby. I got her when she was 5 monthsold. So with Benji, I could see some ofthe similarities.

Oh, waiting is awful. How's it going?

As far as a critter first aid kit, I keep mine in a latchingrubbermaid. I have a ridiculous amount of stuff in there forall my critters, sometimes I forget what's in there for who, but I dowant to recommend: Biocane -- it's made by Tomlyn and it is for cutsand things. It has antibiotic stuff, lidocainefor pain and nasty tasting stuff for anti licking/chewing.I'll look and see what else I have, I don't really use much...Oh,Vaseline in case of a suspected g.i. blockage. Maybe someoneshould start a first aid kit thread....hmmm....I think I'll do that.

Hi Jen .. the waiting is POO! But it's going to be worth it! It'seasier for me, I'm an soul and I know that sometimes circumstances meanyou have to wait, but for Hollie, (13) who thought she was going to gethim next Saturday it's two more days of wanting to cuddle him!
