    Poor Roo’s eye is BAD

Do you know what caused the infection originally? If it was an injury or something unknown? I have had success with using a warm compress (soft cloth soaked in almost hot water, then squeeze out most of the water and hold gently to the area), then saline drops (I use nasal drops from the...

    Aggressive bunny

That helps a lot! Thank you! Bunny is indoors with a hutch attached to an xpen, allowed free roaming time too. No dogs, seems like a peaceful situation. I'll pass this info along. I'm sure it will be helpful!

    Aggressive bunny

I had a buyer reach out to me yesterday asking advice on her bunny becoming very aggressive, longing and biting. I've never had any issues like this so I was unsure what to say. The rabbit is a 6 month old Holland lop, so I told her that Ellie (the rabbit) has likely been going through puberty...

    Any Tips For At-Home Nail-Trimming?

I've seen this done with a sock or knitted hat/scarf. Seems like it would work well!

RHVD2 in the US - what you need to know (includes map, pg 3)

Were you able to administer the vaccine yourself? If so, would you be able to share where you got it? The local vet here who will administer it also requires microchipping and I don't know how I feel about having to microchip them.

Bunny born with no eyes or nest eye?

I had a kit that I thought was blind too. But it was just really swollen. I use saline and a warm soft baby wash cloth and gently rub along where the slit should be. Might just be so crusted that it's sealed pretty good. If not, I echo was @majorv said and take the kit in.

How to make suitabe flooring for my bunnies

I have my rabbits on concrete flooring and I tape cardboard down with paper tape over plastic sheeting to waterproof it. The cardboard gives them a bit of cushion to walk on. Also a layer of hay or straw is helpful too. They do not mind the concrete at all, but mine is not sealed. In our next...

my bunny has a bloody nose, any advice?

For small scratches I just use a little Neosporin/triple antibiotic ointment. But not too much because sometimes they make the wound worse trying to get the stuff off. Or you can just keep the area clean and let it heal on its own.

Help figuring out *** of 4 buns?

Of course! It's almost impossible to get into a vet here too, so we try to do everything we can on our own. Good luck!

My rabbit isn't eating any of his cecotropes!

It's very possible that he is eating some still, but making too many..that can be caused by too much sugar in his diet (too many treats) and I've also seen this when my rabbits get too many fresh vegetables. You may want to try cutting back on the fresh veggies and encouraging more hay.

Help figuring out *** of 4 buns?

Hmmm. They all look like girls to me except for sisko. You'll want to press a little more firmly on the sides of the vent area to see if the tubular part can stick out more to make sure they are boys. And yeah, poor Janeway looks to have an infection. If it were me, I'd rinse the area with some...

Is it ok do buy a baby rabbit, because there aren’t any available for adoption locally?

It sounds like you've thought about it a lot and planned well. I'm not going to speak to shelter vs breeder, you've gotten a lot about that already. So with bringing an 8 wk old male home ... Male/female bonds do seem to work the best. Female/female work well too, but since you've got your boy...

Can i relocate my pregnant holland lop?

Congratulations! I have had a few back to back litters on accident (my kids kept sabotaging my efforts to keep the buck separate). My bonded pair of does both were pregnant at the same time but staggered every two weeks. One doe started weaning her babies around 3 weeks and by the time she...

    Travel

Driving can be super stressful for them. I took one of my bucks to be neutered 9 hours each way with a week stay in between. He is a very chill and calm bunny. And looking back he probably did great. I was worried at the time. He seemed to lose weight. And he didn't eat or drink anything while...

Is it ok do buy a baby rabbit, because there aren’t any available for adoption locally?

As a breeder, I would definitely say not all breeder are bad. Many are just working to better the breed or working on a specific line and then sell the bunnies that don't fit in with their program. I personally love seeing my bunnies as mothers. They love having babies and I think it gives them...

    Rabbit pregnancy

Some take more than 30-31 days. She may not be pregnant. So, when mine get close to the end, they are obviously bigger, especially through the belly. They tend to lounge a lot, and breath harder, like panting. And if I press gently on their lower abdomen, I can usually feel tiny movements and...

    Rabbit pregnancy

Did you happen to start a new thread for this question? Sounds like you're doing everything you can. If she is using the nest box to poop in, make sure you clean it out and possibly move it away from where she normally poops. A few poops are normal, but don't let her pee in it. and give her...

New to bunny ownership and looking for advice.

My bunnies eat kale with zero issues, but I only give them a little bit and no more than a couple times a week. You'll want to watch their poop after you try a new food. If they produce more cecotropes than they eat (those are the blackberry looking, softer poops, they usually eat as they come...

New to bunny ownership and looking for advice.

Congrats on your bunnies and thank you for taking them in! Did your vet give you an idea of what breed or how old they are? Whitebunnyecho is right about the raw veggies, you'll want to introduce one new veg at a time and just a small amount. You can find lists of safe vegetables online, as I'm...

Can i relocate my pregnant holland lop?

How many days do you have before she is due to kindle? I have a doe that had three litters underground but never in the snow. I did everything I could to steer her to other areas, short of caging her, so the last litter I waited until she kindled, checked on the kits every day and then moved...
