Rabbit not eating, vet gave me Baytril and I’m wondering when to expect improvement.

When our bunny Dutchess wouldnt eat, i gave her critical and meloxicam. She wouldnt even eat apple. So i cut yard grass. She would eat that, but i had to make sure it was not sprayed with anything or mixed with other weeds. Also our grocery had alfalfa grass in the oroduce section, which...

    Behaviors preventing bonding

Thank you. Will keep them apart. Yes, Abigal is about three months old, soon to be four months. Was hoping Abigail would clean Dutchess’ crusty face. Not sure how to remove dry eye crud which is all over her fur below her eyes.

Does your rabbit freak out over needles?

Hey, as a needle phobe who had to use numbing cream to get vaccines, i dont blame your bunny. ☺

Weak, drinking and peeing a lot.

Am not familiar with arnica. When our bunny is in pain, vet gives us meloxicam to give her, which is an anti inflammatory. Not sure what falling over means. Hope he is all better soon.

Help! Something wrong with my rabbits eye?

We are treating Dutchess for having eye fluid, with antibiotic drops. Vet thinks it may also be related to elongated tooth roots. Hope your bunny is all better soon!

    Dutchess overgrown molars

Have been taking Dutchess and Abbie outside for the past three days, putting them in strong side by side outdoor cages. They loved it! Dutchess has been eating by herself again, no meds, but still prefers veggies to hay. Have Rabbit Hole soft timothy and Rabbit Hole orchard grass. Have been...

My rabbit fell on her head

Thank you for bringing this up. Hope your bunny is OK. Have had to wrap Dutchess firmly in a towel (“bunny burrito”) and put her backwards into her hutch to prevent her from jumping.

    Dutchess overgrown molars

JBun, just got home with Dutchess. Dont know if she will eat, yet. He trimmed her incisors (dont know why, 1/8 to 1/4 inch). I had asked him NOT to trim teeth. she had no spurs which is good. He said he flushed her nasolacrimal duct which seemed clear. He put her on different antibiotic drops...

    Dutchess overgrown molars

Dutchess is at the vet for a recheck of her eyes. Am nervous because they said “we’re just getting ready to start the procedure.” I asked what procedure? They have anesthetizedher and are rechecking her teeth. I begged them NOT to burr down any healthy teeth and to only burr any spurs. I asked...

    Vitamin D / UV Light / Sunlight

Just found this thread and love it. Our bunny has dental issues so i took her outside the pasttwo days. It is hardto get sun so am thinking about getting a UV lamp as well. My frogs and lizards have lamps with UVbulbs but it didnt occur to me our bunny’s dental issues might be related to MBD.

Any tips for slowing down dental spurs?

samandsnuggle, Dutchess loves being in her outside hutch with a little handpicked lawn/grass, so she has sun and food. From what i am reading, it is best to have the vet just trim thespurs and not burr down all the teeth. Plus to address metabolic bone disease.
