My little friend passed away. I am heartbroken. H

Well we buried him on a wooded hilltop in a ravine near our old house. This was likely illegal but now we can visit him whenever we want. If we buried him in our backyard we would move eventually ... so that was pointless to us. We have another bunny buried next to old Steve and we even put a...

My little friend passed away. I am heartbroken. H

My sincerest condolences. It's perplexing how someone can be here one day and gone the next. I lost my 8 year old bunny last November and it was so hard. I found what helped me was going to a special spot in nature to sit and talk to him. It also helped me put things in perspective and brought...

Bunny died in confusing accident. Very depressed

Sorry for your loss. Still, your children are most important and it's an opportunity for them to learn about respecting and handling animals. This is something all children must learn. Also for you to work on your family dynamics. You're the parent and that's that. I'd wait some years before...

Bunny Ate A Cherry Pit !!

I had a rabbit that ate the wrapper from a Hershey's kiss. He was fine. My current bunny ate a small cube of cheese that my daughter dropped on the floor. He's fine. Not much you can do now but offer lots of hay and fresh water to help things along. Hopefully he will be just fine.

    Sick Harvey

Don't give up on her... they ruled out a blockage right? Get simethicone for infants and give 1 ML each hour up to 3 times. Try some gentle tummy massage. If her ears are cold warm her up with a warm water bottle. Syringe some water into her along with the critical care. Offer favourite greens...

    Sick Harvey

Aww poor Harvey. My vet says she's not heard of a bunny that has never ever had a bit of gas. Hope she's better in no time. It can be stressful.

    Question about my lionhead

Well the thing is when you feed pellets that have dried fruit and seeds in it they will often pick out their favourite stuff and leave the rest. That being said, these types of rabbit food just aren't healthy and not recommended as a part of a balanced bunny diet. You want to choose a Timothy...

    Critical care replacement

I have also heard of adding a bit of canned pumpkin (real stuff not pie filling mix). Helps add some fibre to keep the gut moving.

    Bunnies and stairs....

Well with carpeted stairs I wouldn't really worry much. That will let bunny have good grip for running up and down. And who knows, he may not even want to. My other rabbit does not leave the safety of the rugs or carpet.

    Bunnies and stairs....

We have laminate flooring throughout the house except the basement stairs which are carpeted. Our bunny chip goes on all kinds of stairs. There's no stopping him. He doesn't slip but sometimes when he goes fast it looks like he could. But I can't prevent him, he gets through baby gates. So far...

    Odd question kinda

Nope. Don't worry about it. They can't. But you should still practice good hand hygiene to avoid passing it to other people via pets or anything else. Feel better soon!

    Kaytee hay

I would love to do this and will try to source some out, the issue is where the heck to store it... it has to be "horse quality" hay, correct? My father in law knows a guy that has clydesdales.

    Kaytee hay

I buy vitakraft at petsmart. I live in Canada so not sure how the price compares but a big bag costs around $10 on sale. I wish my bunnies liked oxbow but they hated it. Maybe I could try it again. Bad batches do happen.

    Kaytee hay

My rabbits also stopped liking this brand. So I switched to vitakraft.

Why did you choose a rabbit as a pet? What you love?

What a good question... let me count the ways! Rabbits are pretty. Even the "ugliest" roughest looking rabbit is beautiful to me. They have a certain poise and grace, I love their shape and form and I love to watch them do anything, even dig in their own butts for poops to munch... Also...
