Conan the Bunbarian & Xena Bunnier Princess

This is us trying to give the rabbits some holiday spirit...Yeah, they are not happy about it but its the price they pay for room and board. :)

Figured I'd share this pic. The buns seem really happy in this new house, constantly lounging around and not being as skittish. Xena is constantly dead flopping and so inured to human company she actually allowed my wife belly kisses while Xena was dead flopped. Conan hardly moves when you try...

tell me the truth! - Flemish Giant size

Got my two from different breeders, and there was zero litter training involved. I stuck the litter in a corner, confined them to a small area, and presto they took to it. Occasionally, rarely even, I have an issue with my doe peeing where she shouldn't but for the most part they are very well...

tell me the truth! - Flemish Giant size

My guys are pretty gentle, but picking them up is like most rabbits difficult. The more confident we we're the easier it was to do, but in the beginning there was some kicks and some scratches. No I can't say there have been issues aside form the occasional nip but when they realize that won't...

Please help, idk what to do

I have a flemish giant buck, 17lb of rabbit and he doesn't smell at all. Neutering made the difference.

Questions About Adding A New Bunny?

What everyone said, but definitely do your research. I found this website was most helpful back when I did it. http://www.wheekwheekthump.com/

tell me the truth! - Flemish Giant size

Shoot, I don't have any available pics right now but in my bunny blog there's quite a few. My buck is 16lb and my doe is 17lb. They are definitely bigger then most house cats, and a maltese (from personal observation). When my Xena stretches out she's easily over 2ft long but that's with her...

Conan the Bunbarian & Xena Bunnier Princess

All the freedom seems to have gone to their...ahem, well they ended up peeing on my living room carpet. Their litter box is roughly 15ft away, I don't think it's that far for these big buns, so personally i think they did it out of laziness. They like being in the living room so much i guess...

    My bunny is weird

Apparently I'm the only thing that scares my rabbits...sigh.

    OMG Need help!

Oh wow. Didn't you just go to a show with your rabbits and had them judged? If so no one spotted that? Heh, well either way you traded in one bad experience for a good one. I envy you, you get the chance to see these little ones grow up, and who knows maybe one of the kits will be a future show...

Wanting another rabbit- tons of bonding questions!

I so understand this. I was never a pet person, but seeing my first Flemish awakened something in me. Took a year of study but I finally succumbed and got one. I swore it was going to be only one, that one can be happy alone and that I didn't want another one. Six months later I got my buck...

    Free Range

Truthfully, everything Ive seen and read tells me that a rabbit will scatter some poop around, but will primarily have one spot. As long as they pee in one spot they are litter trained. My flemish are free roam now, and I do see an occasional poop, a few between them, in their favorite spot...

    Indoor cage location question

Bunnies handle the floor space pretty well, I mean after all they are low living dwellers. As long as they're not in a draft area by a door or cross section or something. Plus, you'll find rabbits will be much happier being able to come and go as they please and your relationship will benefit...

Conan the Bunbarian & Xena Bunnier Princess

Here's my new set up. Its a 5ft by 2 and 1/2ft former laundry closet where we put up a shelf to store all their stuff. Its small for Flemish, but since they get to free roam this is really just their bedroom and bathroom.. I think they're pretty happy, especially the free roam part because I...

Welcome, and sounds like your bonding quite well with Baron. Peat Moss...never thought of that.

    Neutering cost

My Vet is a rabbit specialist of over 20 years and services a large metro area. She charged about that for my buck, a bit more for my doe, but I felt completely confident in her. My rabbits came through perfectly and has no issues through the process of convalescence.

    Shedding

I tried a few types of grooming implements myself and found all of them to be rather disappointing. So I asked my Vet and she recommended a men's hair comb. I was shocked how well it works and how well my rabbits tolerate it. SHOCKED! And since I'm bald, but have a strange amount of men's hair...

    Jerk face rabbit (bites)

Yeah I was told some rabbits go through this phase, sort of a bunny version of the terrible twos. I experienced this from my buck but not my doe, and yeah I had to discourage him from it. I tried the high pitched squeal but he didn't care, but when I gently pushed his head down after he would...
