Yeah, I'm kind of surprised it's lasted this long too. Mind you, there is now an exit door where there used to be wall, and every day it seems to get just a wee bit bigger, so its days are probably numbered. But it started out as a pretty thick cardboard (much moreso than a cardboard rabbit...

Border collies are actually in the working dog class (sans a paycheck, unfortunately) and they're most often used to herd sheep; sometimes they're used for cattle, and some are even used for *goose patrols* in order to scare off flocks of geese intent on nesting in public parks. Izzy...

    gi stasis again?

tiabia0 wrote: Glad to hear she's doing better! Stasis can be scary. I've been through it a few times with my rabbit, and each time he's come out of it (knock on wood). What I've done for treatment in the past included treating with simethicone, pain meds, some watered down pumpkin given via...

Thanks Nela! Everyone has warned me about the prospect of taking on a border collie (i.e., 'Are you INSANE?!') and yes, I probably am. Izzy is still a quaking little bundle of nerves with regard to some things, especially in the Big Outdoors, but he is getting well-versed in learning to...

Oh, I'll have to pass on that offer...I had one of those (only in a small size, not big) many years ago. Most loveable dog in the world, but slightly bereft of thinking muscle. The best way I could describe would be if you ever saw *Santa's Little Helper* on The Simpsons. Not only was that dog...

Since you don't have the funds for a vet visit, one thing you could try is to call your local vet clinic, explain that you can't bring your bunny in right now, but ask them for a bit of advice. See what they think about glucosamine and chondroitin, for example, and what dosage you could try...

17 day old Baby Lion Head eye problems

I once had a young kit whose one eye didn't open. It remained closed and crusted over, so when she was about 12 days old I began treating it with a mild (warm) boric acid solution - boric acid dissolved in hot water, then let it cool. I bathed it 3 times a day for several days, and the eyelid...

    Finally..A Tribute to Max

I apologize for late condolences, but oh, how I felt the pain in your post when I read it...it was very hard to fight back the tears. I must say, a bunny that loved must have had an incredibly wonderful life. With regard to soul mates...I do believe that all soul mates reunite once they've...

Accused by apartment manager...In need of advice.

Nancy McClelland wrote: :yeahthat: Unfortunately these kinds of situations do come up with pet owners living in rentals. Many years ago my (then) husband and I took over as building managers for two apartment complexes, as the fellow who used to have the job was retiring. The owners did...

    Tiny babies!

It's been a very long time since I had baby rabbits, but I'd guess these guys look around 3 weeks or so. I didn't have the audio on for the video so don't know if anything was said, but there wasn't any info typed below the vid. Could be possible the owner was raising rabbits and just had them...

Some questions for the vegetarians / vegans on here

I hate my work schedule this week

Ah! I never knew, being Canadian. ;) I've heard of cheerleaders, but not colorguards. Sounds like fun!

    Cats Outside on a Line

Those kitty enclosures are impressive! I tried talking my sister into building something similar to the first one for her Quaker parrot, as he loves to be outdoors in the warm weather, but only has a small cage to sit in when she takes him out on her deck. I love that idea for cats. :)

I hate my work schedule this week

My ex - long before he was ever an ex, or even a husband - used to work at a local Steak & Stein restaurant. Steaks there were fantastic (this was my pre-vegetarian days) but the employer treated the employees terribly. The work schedule for everyone there was 12 hours on, 12 hours off, all the...

    Wabbitdads Wabbit Herd

Oh Dave, Karen...I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your little Baby. Sometimes I think it's not fair that our pets have such shorter life spans than humans. Yet at the same time, I try to justify it by believing that it does have a purpose; we can allow our hearts to make room for so many of...

LOL, every time I see photos of your bunnies I'm envious, partly because their surroundings are so neat and tidy (I'm definitely a not-so-neat-n-tidy person...guess that's where Yofi gets it), but they are always so clean-looking too. I'm mean, sparkly-white clean! My bunnies aspire to be...

Hi Susan! No, actually Yofi's pretty good about that; he doesn't pee on Kaya's cushion at all. When I first got him however, he thought that the sofa was meant for peeing upon. I was not impressed. Yofi may not pee on cushions, but he's the biggest slob of a rabbit I've ever seen. As soon as...

A few more photos: I recently purchased a dog cushion for The Dog. (Actually, I purchased it for The Dog II, but that's a whole 'nuther story, soon to come...if things work out.) Anyway, The Dog took to the new cushion in no time at all. Okay, so she's a bit lopsided...she's still...

    Cats Outside on a Line

I used to have two cats, Fritz and Tasha (both have since left for the bridge). Fritz was an indoor/outdoor cat I got from a neighbor many many years ago. When I took him in I tried to convert him to be an indoor cat only, but I gotta say, he was stubborn and he eventually won that fight. All...
