Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

Yes both of them are spayed. They didn't do xray for this case. Whats strange is that even though he is not eating pelletts, she accepts digestive support tablets at the same time. So if she is not feeling hungry/well why would she accept the digestive tablet? Also I contacted my regular go-to...

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

Also: What would be the recovery time? The vet said 7-10 days cure of this antibiotic.

Would you recommend giving probiotics as well during this antibiotic cure?

So the antibiotic is "Chloramphenicol". I dont know whether it's safe to treat her with that. Still the exotic vet recommended this.

As for eating her cecals: Yes I see her eating it.

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

We fed her Critical Care (this day twice) and gave her 1x BioLapis Probiotics (it is the 4th one, since we started a "probiotic cure", and this was the 4th day of that cure) Her daily feeding is: Hay (dry), Oxbow Digestive support (1perday), Oxbow adult rabbit pellets (3 times a day, but every...

....And now she has normal poops. Everything is closed here due to Easter. I will call tomorrow the vet about whether we should proceed with the antibiotic treatment.

I see. Do you know anything about blood diagnosis? I have the full sheet sheet with "mumbo jumbo" levels. I don't really understand it.

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

Yeah, but I really don't get it. She wasn't like this (leaving it and then eating it 30 mins later).

We switched from those pellets 3 years ago. Ours tend to like Oxbow better.

Pretty normal, round shaped, black and normal sized. Some hair stringed ones are present every once in a while due to the male's shedding but thats pretty ok I think.

Hair in poop, should I be concerned?

Mine used to have like 10+ poop balls stringed together with really thick hair strings. as long as this hair comes out, its ok. I suggest giving him Oxbow digestive support (1 tablet per day). Thats what I give them. Keep brushing him however!

Thank you! What's baby food? Sadly Blue seal pellet is not available in our country (EU, Hungary). What i will do though, is that once she stops eating the pellett I will try to give her a digestive support right away, this way if she accepts it i will know that she got "bored" of the pellets.

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

Around Tablespoon per day. I feed this amount divided into 3 feeding:morning, afternoon, evening. Normally (before this "illness" started) she would eat all of it at once. Since this "illness" started however she would only eat like half of the portion, leave it and then 30 minutes later she...

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

Thank you for answering! She mostly eats hay and she no longer eats her daily pellets amount. She seem to be interested in it (pellets) and eats some but like half the amount. She accepts digestive support (which is harder to chew). I would rule out teeth problems since the vet made some...

Also about the weight loss: She was just about 1.6 - 1.59 kg, and now we are at 1.48 Kg

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

So my dwarf female bunny (around 6 years old) started to eat fewer pellets than she normally would: Giving her the usual amount and she left a bit. After like 10-30 mins she would go back to the spot and consume the leftover as well. At first we thought it was her teeth, some minor stuff could...

The only stuff they can contract from humans is salmonella. That is what she told me.
