Luckily she's never peed outside of the cage!

are mesh litter boxes good for rabbits?

Thanks so much for your thoughts, @Blue eyes! Eenie has a spay appointment for this week so I'll need to hold off on any changes but I'm keen to make improvements once she's healed. I would love to ditch the cage altogether. The biggest benefit of the cage is that it helps to keep the hay...

are mesh litter boxes good for rabbits?

Thanks for the offer, @Blue eyes. Here's her cage. She free-ranges in the living room so the cage stays open all the time now.

are mesh litter boxes good for rabbits?

I'm not sure why but my small, single bunny's litter has to be cleaned once or even twice a day! I use wood pellets. At least half of her 18 by 12-inch litter box is generally soaked and full of poop by the end of the day.

    Bunny death during neutering.

I'm in the NYC area and have absolutely obsessed over this decision. The cost -- which here is astronomical -- the risk, figuring out which vet to use, all caused me to delay spaying my bunny. I've finally decided to bite the bullet and have her spayed by my very expensive but very rabbit-savvy...

are mesh litter boxes good for rabbits?

@toffeepal , I'm glad you asked about this because I've also been wondering. So, how hard on the rabbits feet are these surfaces?

    MY RABBIT IS PEEING BLOOD

@FuzzyWabbit, this sounds like a really stressful situation. So sorry to hear it. Where I live in New York, there are some animal rescue organizations and veterinarians that offer vet care on a sliding scale. You will usually need to demonstrate financial need. How about calling around to...

Can you leave a bunny alone for a few hours after neutering?

That sounds like a good solution. In my experience employers are usually happy to accommodate a request for leave that's going to happen way off in the future. That also gives you some time to establish some goodwill with your employer.

That looks like a nice option! Are they soft (for bare-footed humans)?

Normal shedding or something to be concerned about? Please respond, really nervous

If it makes you feel any better, here's my nearly identical post from a few months ago. 😄 P.S. My bunny is fine. Is my bunny wasting away or just shedding like crazy?

Can someone please help me with my rabbits breed?

Okay - thanks for the info ... And sorry for the misinformation!

Can someone please help me with my rabbits breed?

Your bunny looks similar to my Eenie, who I've been told is a Rex.

My rabbit fell on her head

I used to have a long shipping box that my bunny liked to hide in. When it was time to put her in her cage I would put some kibble in the box, she would climb in and I would just lift it up gently and she would skedaddle out the end into the cage.

Our boy keeps peeing and pooping next to the litterbox after we scoop it.

This is the set-up that's finally working for us. She free-ranges in the living room so her cage is always open. She never peed outside the cage but was using the entire cage as a litter box for a while.

Our boy keeps peeing and pooping next to the litterbox after we scoop it.

I've been dealing with a similar issue with my bunny, pooping and peeing randomly in her cage even though she uses the litter box a great deal of the time. The poop I can live with but the pee is getting really tedious. After lots of trial and error what I'm finding helpful in her case, apart...
