    Bonding Bunnies?

Love that you’re considering adopting another rabbit! I was in the same situation- I felt so bad leaving my single bunny alone all day. Male/female bonds are usually the best/easiest. Your rabbit will probably love to have a friend and if she is spayed I doubt dominance will be a huge issue. My...

    Overreacting while bonding

I agree don’t leave them unsupervised incase a fight occurs. You can try petting them at the same time while they’re near each other. Also feeding them some of their favorite veggies together may help. Also take some toys or blankets and the litter box out of the female’s cage and switch it out...

Friend for a rabbit who has snuffles?

Hi do you know if the rabbit’s sniffles are contagious? Just because he is a carrier doesn’t necessarily mean he’s contagious. I would strongly suggest adopting a female rabbit! I was in the same situation- had a 3 year old male dwarf and adopted a female rabbit. They are both so happy and love...

    Bonding - 1 bun wants it , 1 bun doesn't - At wits end.

So sorry to hear that bonding isn’t going well. Do you have your sessions in a neutral territory? I had sessions in the bathroom instead of the room where they lived because then neither bunny had “claimed” the bathroom. You can try false grooming which just means that you pet each bunny at the...

    "Fruity" Rabbit pellets ?!

Oxbow Timothy pellets are amazing. They helped my one rabbit with digestion and he hasn’t had runny droppings since I started feeding them. What I did was mix 1/4 Timothy pellets with the old food at first and then gradually increase the Timothy pellets while decreasing the old pellets

How long should bonding sessions be?

If your rabbits are getting on fine then it is completely ok to let a session continue. Some rabbits need more time while others fall in love at first sight. Mine personally became a little antsy so my sessions went for about 15-20 mins about 2-3 times a day until they were behaved enough to...

    Hello there

Hey! I agree with zupper- do tons and tons of research before getting a rabbit. As mentioned they might ruin many of your things, they may be skittish, they may be difficult to deal with and at times they can even get expensive. It doesn’t matter the breed of the rabbit really. What I did was I...

    My bunnies :(

I’m so very sorry for your loss, losing such loving little creatures is never ever easy. Shaking in rabbits is not normal and I’m sorry your vet gave out such misinformation. You said that the rabbit were outside- is it possible that there were extreme drops or spike in temp? Rabbits aren’t good...

Rabbit spay? Told by vet she cannot eat before they surgery??

Sorry yeah I don’t know why I said cool- I actually remember giving my bun a towel too because she loves them.

Rabbit spay? Told by vet she cannot eat before they surgery??

Also just a tip- when you bring her home make sure she’s in a cool, dark, quiet environment to rest in. I also found that putting my bun’s food, hay and water in a location that is close to where she chose to be was helpful so that she didn’t have to move around too much at first

Rabbit spay? Told by vet she cannot eat before they surgery??

Is this a rabbit vet? Usually you wouldn’t feed a dog or cat (or human for that matter) before a surgery using anesthesia. During her spay your bun will be put under anesthesia- the process of this usually causes vomiting. So the reason we don’t eat before surgery is because if we vomit while...

    Rabbit started biting me

Hi. Sorry for how long this is. My male rabbit, who I’ve had for 3.5 years now, recently started biting me. This morning he bit me so hard it bled. I adopted a female rabbit 5 months ago and about 2 months ago they started living together in a large xpen with an attached dog cage. The dog cage...

    Fully bonded

Hello. I have been bonding my rabbits since 6 weeks after they were spayed and neutered (bonding for 2 months now). We started in the bathroom then moved to open playtime in the room that their cages are in. At first my female was upset about the male going into her cage, but now they are both...

Both are great ideas! Thank you so much for the suggestions.

    Chewing baseboards

Hi I’m new here but just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I’ve had my first rabbit for over 3 years and I’ve never had an issue with him chewing or scratching anything. About 2 months ago I adopted the sweetest rabbit but she is constantly chewing and scratching, which I know is natural...
