If you are going to proceed with bonding make sure you watch them very carefully as if they fight your elderly bun could get stressed and that could lead to unnecessary health issues. Also how long ago was your younger bun fixed? Usually it takes around 2-3 months for the hormones to calm down...

In some cases leaving an elderly rabbit intact is better than proceeding with a surgery as often the risk gets higher as buns age.

I have tile flooring for my buns, I usually cover it up in the winter as it gets cold, but in my experience it does wear their nails down, I rarely have to trim their nails and also during the summer it cools them down :)

So that is around 2 feet, most rabbits can jump over that height so if you know your rabbit can jump that high (or just for caution) I would recommend covering it with a sheet, but make sure that the rabbit can't chew the cloth that you will put on top.

If you cover it what will you cover it with? How high is the pen can your rabbits jump over it? Is the pen indoors or outdoors? Can you show a few pictures? Are the predators in you area that could get to your bun (if outdoors)?
