Bunny ate part of a rubberband!

If the rubberband was one made from real rubber from a rubber tree plant— I imagine its not toxic... Based on my reading an article saying they are ok to use in aquariums for fish- not toxins leak out and they break down naturally. But some synthetic rubberbands, brightly colored from China...

    Furminator?

My furminator works really well on my jersey woolies and my netherland dwarfs. But does not work at all on my cashmere lop. The furminator doesn't work on a cashmere lops coat because they seem to mat and the coat doesn't let go- so if you use a furminator it pulls too much and hurts the...

    small poop!!!!!!!!

One thing you could also do is make sure you give your rabbit a good groom and get off any loose fur that might slowdown his digestion. I don't ever like seeing small poos either and usually try to give some extra leafy green lettuce (not iceburg) with water in hopes it will loosen things up.

How do I give my rabbits medicine successfully?

I've found that with some of my bunnies if I take them to a strange place they have never been, like on the front porch or even in my car, they sit still and don't try as hard to get away from the meds or me. Same thing with clipping their nails, they sit still and let me do it if I do it in...

Will Australian Virus to kill rabbits reach America? (2016 post)

There is all sorts of controversy over the vaccines which is confusing to me. I believe the Korean strain will kill young kits and that is one of the reasons the people who want it, farmers and such, are so excited about it. The vaccine makers are also saying the current vaccine available will...

my bunny ate cat litter gravel

I think the Bio Lapis- electrolytes and probiotics sounds like a really good thing you are doing. Lots of fluids are very important because with diarrhea it is alway dehydration that kills the animal (or human). I think if she has diarrhea you should call the vet and ask if she needs something...

Will Australian Virus to kill rabbits reach America? (2016 post)

Aki, As I understand it. There is the original strain of RHD and then there is RHDV2 and the Korean strain as well. I think the one in France is the RHDV2 one which has jumped species from rabbits to hares, while the original RHD did not affect hares? RHVD2 has been found in rabbits in Australia...

Will Australian Virus to kill rabbits reach America? (2016 post)

Will Australian Virus to kill rabbits reach America? Hi, I'm an American living with rabbits in New Zealand and when I first got my rabbits learned everything I know from people on this site :) I thought I would share to you, this bad, bad, news I read to day. They are releasing a new...

Neutered and Eating issues. WORRIED BUNNY MOM!!

Since he wasn't eating, but was drinking, I suspect he was feeling a lot of pain. Most Vets give some pain meds after neuter for that reason. I'm glad to hear he is pooping now. If he wasn't I would have rushed to vet, even just one day without pooping and eating is considered a medical emergency.

    Botflies

All I can think of is groom them really well and make sure they are dry and clean. Only other thing I can think of is you could treat with Revolution, on cats and dogs it keeps working for a month, but on rabbits I think it only keeps working for two weeks.

Not drinking water at all !

If you could find a marble slab for him to lay on that would be really good. There is something special about marble that makes it stay cold, that's why the sell them to make pastry and ice cream. Sometimes you can find big pieces of marble on sale because it got chipped or broken at thrift stores.

metoclopramide concern - need some insight

Just read though this and don't really have any advice but really identify with the problem. I had a beloved bunny that went of food and had a bout of stasis and then got better but small poo and wouldn't eat the things he used to eat normally like hay and grass. I had his teeth checked by a...

Rabbit can't move at all! Paralyzed!

I had a 5 week old bunny that went completely floppy, littermates where all fine. I took to vets and they gave him an antiinflamatory, antibiotic, and a anti-protozoal medication for EC. Vet didn't expect it to live. I syringed electrolytes 6 ml every 4 hours or so and some mushy ground pellets...

So, stasis again (the Poop problem)

It sounds like the grass really helped. One thing that I am wondering after reading posts is did the vet check the back teeth. Sometimes not eating hay can be a sign of tooth problems.

I've never heard of this test being done on a rabbit. So what problem was he having?

Mini Rex - Hock bleeding and we can't get it to stop....it seems like a lot

I think keeping your rabbit on lots of layers of hay or straw will help more than any kind of padding, blankets, or carpet. To me is also sounds like you really need to bandage the feet. I think there is some really good information here about how to treat sore hocks from this rabbit rescue...

    Recovery after parasite illness

Lots of hay and water also is supposed to help. I never knew exactly what was wrong with my rabbit but I gave a sulpha med for diarrhea and he was lot better after 24 hours. One bit of advice i have is make sure your bunny is drinking water and if you think he is not- go ahead and syringe...

Bald spot and scab behind new bunnys ears

Are there flakes? It could be she has mites and it was itchy so she scratched with back leg and made the scab. You can treat with Revolution for cats for mites. Usually with mites there is flakey skin. http://www.rabbitmatters.com/rabbitmites.html
