I know you may have mentioned this before, and if so I'm sorry if I missed it,but have you tried fresh grass?Obviously I don't know how many types of grass grow in Iran or how easy it is to find it,but very often thy will eat grass when other things fail. It's not a staple food in the wild, but is...

I'm very glad that you're feeling a bit better and of course that he is too.Sometimes it can be overwhelming and you have no need to feel embarassed about showingyour feelings. We've all done that-if we didn't we wouldn't care so much would we.Keepgoingand do it one step at a time, patience and...

It might be worth finding out if you can get some comfrey plant.I don't know if it grows naturally where you are,but perhaps you have a herbal shop or something similar.Small or moderate amounts of the plant are loved by rabbits, and the plant has been used as a medicinal plant for 2000...

How do I know if my rabbit enjoys being pet?

Just a thought, but it might be wrth trying a stick with a feather on the end-sounds crazy but it works with many animals. The idea is that you gently touch them with them and stroke them, and then gradually shorten your grip on the stick, bringing you closer to them, talking t them of course.Avoid...

I saw that others had also replied, before I did,and have mentioned some of the things I was going to say-presumably you will have seen those, which I wasn't aware of at the time.As they rightly say,the fruit and carrots are sugary and may cause gut problems.Does he have any complete pellets...

    Help! Cat attack

I will certainly help if I can,and I'm sure some of the members who have direct experience with this problem will be able to offer help too.If you don't mind me asking so I can get a better picture of what happened, how old is your rabbit, what ***,what is the normal diet apart from alfalfa? Does...

    Help! Cat attack

All the above advice is excellent and I won't repeat for the sake of it,but i would say, take this as a wake up call to secure the pen from above to prevent it happening again. With animal husbandry the trick is to think of the worst that can happen and try to forestall it by preventative measures.

    Dandelion flowers?

It's worth remembering that while they're excellent food,if not contaminated, theey are quite high in calcium and are a diuretic,so very large amounts could lead to 'stones' and excessive urination.Moderation in all things,as has been pointed out.

Convince Parents to let me get another rabbit?

All of the above points are perfectly valid and not necessarily said in a nasty waybut simply pointing out what those of us who are older and have learned the hard way,by time and effort and mistakes we've learned from, know so well- that it's so easy to just want somethingbut the acid test comes...

    New to rabbits..Ike suddenly died

So very sad to hear of your loss.It is always heartbreaking, particularly when someone is young, but believe me when I say that it doesn't getany easier just because you're a grown-up person.I have broken my heart over rabbit deaths, and know how you feel. There is no simple answer and no...

Sleep tight pinkie. (Helps for her bonded rabbit)

You have my deepest sympathy.I've been through the same thing before, most recently a few weeks ago, having lost Freya my little girl. She was so smart and 'knowing',and loved to cuddle in the evening, giving me bunny licks in exchange for ear rubs.A huge personality, and those who have never known...

Bunny absolutely hates being picked up, solution?

I know that this isn't asimple problem and also know that I don't know what you've treid already, but for what it's worth,my preferred method, even for ones who don't mind being picked up,is as follows.Have the rabbit's head towards youand put one arm around the side of the body, gripping the rump...

Bunny passed away suddenly last night

So very sorry for your loss, having lost one of my pair only a couple of weeks ago following a bowel issue,I know exactly how it feels.I broke my heart and wept like a baby so don't feel in any way odd or any of the other phrases ignorant people use to describe animal grief. Of course you won't...

Constant fear of aspiration pneumonia- is this irrational??

I've used dried Mullain petals to treat congestion, and it works well in people and animals, just sprinkle a fewon the pellets.Obviously get themused to them first and don't give massive amounts, but worth a try.Available online.

Feeling guilty after the death of my 11,5 year old rabbit friend

I suppose whatever someone else says may sound like platitudes or makes the right noises to virtue signal, but i know how you feel and the pain of the loss and the guilt. If we didn't care so much we wouldn't hurt so badly let's face it.i have roken my heart several times over the deaths of my...

    Can rabbits feel owners stress?

It's so wonderful to hear someone put it into words the way you have.I was a zoo keeper for a few years a long time ago,and had always kept animals from being a child, but with hindsight, I knew very little about rabbits even though I had read all the information at the time(born in the early...

    Can rabbits feel owners stress?

I spoke too soon obviously! It certainly denotes character for sure- so sad since the majority of people who have rabbits and don't realy look into their needs have no idea what hidden depths of character they have.I wish you luck with the rearrangements!

    Can rabbits feel owners stress?

Glad to hear it,she doesn't seem to hold a grudge, which many can do.Thankfully for us mere humans, most of them are quite forgiving of our shortcomings.Best wishes from England.

    Can rabbits feel owners stress?

They definately can,in fact the majority of animals can and do,being on many levels much more emotional and sensitive than we are.I've seen so many examples ofthis sensitiviity, and of course it will vary from animalto animal and as to how closely bonded they are with their keeper.I know it...
