    Bunny Poop help?

Thanks, I'll try that! I have offered him alfalfa hay as well but he's not interested. I contacted the previous owners and they said that a small bag of hay lasted them a year, so they obviously weren't giving him enough, he probably never got used to it. He does have an appetite though as he...

    Bunny Poop help?

Thank so much for your advice, and yes for sure, I didn't just switch him flat out. I have 3/4 old pellets 1/4 new pellets and I've given him alfalfa hay plain, and also mixed with grass hay but he's not interested. I think he's just not used to eating hay as it wasn't a regular part of his diet...

    Bunny Poop help?

5 days now and unfortunately no poop change. The cecotropes are better after I started feeding Sherwood Sarx recovery food via syringe but he's still not eating much hay or timothy based pellets at all. I've offered him Oat, Timothy, Meadow, Botanical and Orchard Grass to no avail Took him to...

    Bunny Poop help?

No he's an adopted bunny, almost 3 years old. The place I got him from was feeding him that diet, not me! I'm attempting to feed only hay, offering a few pellets (oxbow) but he doesn't eat the pellets or the Hay. In 5 days he's eaten less hay than my other rabbit eats in half a day. I'm now...

    Bunny Poop help?

Thanks :) I'm trying but this is day 5 of him barely eating. He won't touch pellets and barely eats hay. In 5 days he's eaten less than half of what my other rabbit eats in a day. Today I gave him some romaine lettuce (very small amount) and he went crazy for it so he's obviously hungry. I've...

    Bunny Poop help?

He's almost 3 years old. He's a holland lop and a whopping 7 lbs of fat, his actual body is smaller than my mini rex. I offered only hay, Oxbow pellets, and water since Sunday as well as one tablespoon of Sherwood Sarx recovery food (recommended amount is 6tbs per day). He hasn't touched the...

Rabbits cage aggression is getting worse what did I do?

We had this issue too with our bunnies. I just started to not reach into their cages if they are in there and respect their space. Note that our buns are free roamed but both are rescues and came with cages which are now their litter boxes and safe space but the doors are removed. If I need to...

    Bunny Poop help?

Hi all adopted a new bunny yesterday, he’s not used to eating hay, when he did have hay it was alfalfa and he got unlimited pellets. I’ve switched him to Timothy hay and earning off pellets, just gave him a table spoon. Poop looks concerning do I need a vet visit or ok to just keep feeding hay...

Large Cages and not active bunnies

I bought a big carpet from Ikea for $50 for my bunny as she doesn't like hard floors either. The carpet is super light so if you don't want to leave it out you can always roll it up and put it in a closet or corner and bring it out for her to use each day...

    New Bunny - Poop Issues

Yeah, we realized he didn't really know how to use the hay wheel after about 15 mins and just gave him a big pile of it. I also added one of the drip water bottles as I don't think he really understood the bowl of water either, though now he uses it. He seems super excited about the hay which...

    New Bunny - Poop Issues

He was in a 30 min car ride to get to my house a pic of his poop below and him in his cage, he’s ventured out a bit to look around but always goes back to the cage. Previous owner has no idea she said she hasn’t seen balls of poop that were hard since he was little and she thought I was...

    New Bunny - Poop Issues

I picked him up from his previous owner 2 hours ago and that’s what was in his litter box. I cleaned it out and he’s had one new poop, looks like maybe 5 droppings/pellets (based on size) but all mushed into one

    New Bunny - Poop Issues

so I just adopted a new bunny, Peter (neutered), he is a 2 year old Holland Lop. His poop basically looks like dog poop it’s not ball shaped and soft and squishy. It’s not cecotropes either those look even softer. His diet thus far (not from me, his previous owner): Alfalfa hay (tho there...

    GI Stasis or something else?

Thanks for the tip, yeah I've thought about going off pellets as well. She gets a small amount once per day as treats. I'm a little worried going off pellets that she may not get all the nutrients she needs. What do you feed your bun every day?

    GI Stasis or something else?

Thanks, unfortunately, I don't have any critical care. She eats Oxbow Adult Rabbit Food pellets. She likes apple and carrot but hasn't had any at all this week, I just tried giving her some to entice her to eat but she's not interested.

    GI Stasis or something else?

Thanks for reading/helping; some background info: Thumper female lop x rex mix approx 1 year old. Not spayed We have a great exotics vet but no after-hours vet anywhere within a 2-hour drive. She ate a tsp of pellets, lettuce, cilantro and hay. This morning she was excited for food, drank...

Starting to actually hate my bunny.

I had the same issue with my bunny Thumper and our couch, plus it's her favorite spot to pee. I bought an XL dog xpen and use it to block the couch. One thing with Thumper is if I am spending time with her, playing cuddling etc she's on her best behavior but if I ignore her and she runs around...

Best flooring for a rabbit cage?

I use the Ikea Tanum rugs. My bun is a chewer but not interested in these for some reason, I just trimmed off the tassels in each corner. when I first got my bun this was the flooring of her cage and could easily be thrown in the laundry when needed. Now her cage is her litter box and she has a...
