How long will hay last me?

I would recommend buying hay directly from a farm, you’ll save tons of money. Just google your city and Hay Sales and call them up to ask if you can buy a small bale of Timothy hay, in my experience bunnies like 2nd cut. I used to spend hundreds of dollars on hay from the pet store or ordering...

    Bonding woes

Hi all, Any bonding experts that can give me some advice? We've had our girl Thumper for 2 1/2 years now, she an extremely affectionate rabbit. She'll lick you and want to cuddle for hours. A year ago we saw a post on instagram in our area of someone who was selling their bunny or it was...

When should I stop pre bonding?

Well scientifically speaking it's about 2 months so you know for sure that for 8 weeks after her surgery she could still have hormones. So definitely wait a full 8 weeks. After that, in my experience, it's more about how the male rabbit reacts to her than how she is acting herself. What worked...

When should I stop pre bonding?

Bunny hormones can stick around a lot longer than 2 weeks. While she might be healed enough after two weeks to interact with another bunny her hormones can still be in her system. Our vet said 6 weeks, but I swear our bunny took 10 weeks before her hormones were gone because it was a pretty...

Rabbit Square Footage Dilemma - opinions?

Yes that's exactly what I'm looking at but I need the taller one as Thumper is a jumper and can hop over the 27" which I think is the one you have? I'd love to get a colourful one but the 36" only comes in silver or gunmetal :( Glad to know it's working well for you! My buns are about the same...

Rabbit Square Footage Dilemma - opinions?

Yeah we’ve done that in the past, unfortunately our girl is an escape artist and very strong. She just pulls the x pen in towards herself until their is a gap by the wall to get out. We’ve tried furniture, bricks etc but unless the x pen is attached to itself with carabiners she finds a way out...

Rabbit Square Footage Dilemma - opinions?

Thanks so much for your feedback! There is an option to get an expansion for the pen to make it 36 sqft but I likely wouldn't be able to buy that until after Christmas.

    Bedtime?!

Have your tried a dog X Pen? they can be closed with carabiner clips and you can get a variety of heights. One of our buns is a jumper so we have x pen that is 48" tall

Rabbit Square Footage Dilemma - opinions?

Hi Everyone! We recently moved and were fortunate enough to have found a place in our budget that allowed more space for our bunnies and I'm trying to figure out where to situate our them. Our buns have never been in cages, but full time free roaming is not an option due to other pets in the...

    Long car ride with rabbits

I had the same worry. The Carrier we bought for our trip had a gate door that we attached a water bottle to and an opening on top that was quite small. Big enough to put some hay through but not big enough for the bunny. We didn’t open the front gate until we were indoors. I’m sure it’ll be...

    Scent Glands?!

    Long car ride with rabbits

We moved from Montreal to Vancouver driving for 6 days about 10 hours a day with our Bunny. She is also very nervous in the car. We opted for a extra small dog carrier with a grate front so we could attach a water bottle (bowl doesn't really work in the car) and stopped every 3 hours for the...

    Scent Glands?!

Hi All, I have a female Mini Rex / Lop Mix age 3. In the last couple of weeks her scent from her scent glands has been insane. Every time you come near her or talk to her she starts to stink but wants to climb all over you and cuddle. I clean her scent glands regularly. Any idea what could be...

Why do they always get sick on a holiday weekend - help?

Hi all, It’s thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and our vet is closed til Tuesday. The 3 emergency animal clinics within a few hours drive don’t treat rabbits. This morning I went downstairs to give our buns breakfast and our 2 year old female (not spayed) Lop x Rex didn’t charge for food...

Do you have a favorite among your buns?

I have two buns and I like certain things about each. Thumper, a female (unspayed) black and white holland lop x mini rex has a really sweet personality she loves to give kisses, comes when called and is super curious but you can have her on your lap and just cuddle she won't hold still. She's...

    Flooring, Bedding and Digging

You can also try putting a thin fleece blanket on the floor of the cage so he has something a little softer :)

    Flooring, Bedding and Digging

One of our bunnies is a chewer as well and the only thing we've found that she doesn't chew is this kid play mat/carpet from IKEA. https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/urskog-rug-flatwoven-leaves-green-00393903/ They have a few other designs in other sizes of the same style. It's totally flat woven and...

What type of Lop is my Rabbit?

Since your buns are so young beware that when hormones kick in they can't be housed together until they are bonded, which also can't be done until hormones kick in and both are fixed. I would guess Harvey is a Holland Lop mix of some kind :)
