    Thinking about a third

The thing about rabbits is they will either bond or they won't. They are more like people that way. In most cases you can get dogs to at least tolerate each other even if you add one late to the pack, but with rabbits, not so much. It might go great, or adding a third might cause even your...

Need help! What breed is my bunny?!

Checkered giants often have an upright sitting stance. Does he often sit with his front legs extended, more like a dog sitting up than a hunched rabbit? It's not an all the time thing, but it could be a key to his backround.

    What breed is my bunny?

In the states, that color is often called cinnamon, but there is a primarily European breed called Thuringer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thuringer_(rabbit) that has that coloration. That color morph can be found in a large number of breeds though, so until the bunny is older or you are able to...

    Any other pets? :)

I have two rabbits, lots of fish both inside and outside and a snake. I like quiet pets.

Ever feel bad for your rabbit?

I've never found bunnies and beds to mix. My rabbits aren't allowed in the bedroom. Bunnies like to pee on beds. Only ever had one that we didn't have that issue with.

    Yesterday's News a good litter?

I use yesterday's news. I like it because I can dump the dirty pans into my garden. I have hard clay soil and the paper pulp breaks down and helps improve the soil. I think it's better for my garden then wood pellets. But if you are going to toss it in the garbage, the pellets are cheaper

    Cat trees/towers suitable for rabbits?

I think those would be great! In fact I just bought this one for my rabbit this week. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B081GFNJQK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In my experience rabbits like to climb. I've had rabbits that climbed onto bookshelves etc (which weren't very...

    New toys/habitat

You can buy plain jute rope at most DIY stores like Lowe's or Home Depot. lengths of that with knots tied in it make good safe toys. You can get it by the foot in nice big widths. Many bunnies are fascinated by things hanging in their way and if you leave the rope hanging with the end just...

    CAN'T. STOP. DIGGING!

sounds like he'd love a hay bale to dig, chew, destroy! even a bale of straw would work. Messy, yes, but it might save your furniture. I agree with others, cardboard isn't likely to hurt him. You can buy sea grass mats at World Market or online and he can have fun destroying those too.

    4 H bunnies

I know that at least in some areas I've lived (all over the USA) 4H has had different categories for rabbits. There have been meat pens, show breeding and pet categories. The youth are taught proper care and husbandry. I have never seen anyone involved purposely lead the kids astray, telling...

    Moving our rabbit outside :(

I've kept rabbits outside for years, though these days I have only indoor buns. I used a dog enclosure as a home base. 12' by12' with chicken wire over the top secured with strong wire. Also reinforced the door with stout cage wire so no possums or ***** could slip into the gap. I put plastic...

    Mini lop Breeders in Connecticut

Have you checked the American Rabbit Breeders Association website? They will have a list of registered breeders by area. Also you can find out when the next local show is and go there and meet breeders in person. Often people bring rabbits to sell to the shows, plus it's fun and you meet a lot...

    Return my bunny?

In my area the regular shelters that deal primarily in cats and dogs don't always spay/neuter small pets, but the rabbit rescues ALWAYS do. There is usually an adoption fee from 30 to 100 dollars depending on the organization. Sometimes they have situations in which they waive the fee, like...

    Return my bunny?

The urge to breed and raise kits is super strong in female rabbits. If they are not fixed and are not breeding they tend to have way too much energy and aggression. If you cannot get her fixed or offer her a secure large outdoor home with lots to do, it is probably best to return her. Otherwise...

    THUMPING????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know how much experience you have with rabbits, but maybe a few things I've observed over the decades might help. Pee pads usually have a scent attractant in them. Animals pee on them, and they are good for training, but if you keep using them they keep the cycle going. Either only use...

My bunny wants to be outside

In my experience rabbits who were born or raised outside and then become indoor pets often seem to want to get outside. I can't blame them, Sunshine and fresh air are lovely. It would be nice if you can find a way to safely spend outside time with your rabbit. If you have your own space, a...

    Fed Up!!!

While I keep house rabbits, it's not a tragedy for rabbits to live outside. They have been bred as livestock and most breeds do fine outside if they are safe from predators and weather. The most important thing is to keep they cool in Summer and make sure they have access to liquid water when...

Mini Rex with no Rex fur?

Probably just a throwback to some point in the line where someone bred a normal coated bunny with a rex. Sometimes those guard hairs just show up again!

    SOS escape artist pls help

Rabbits chew, but if they are randomly chewing walls/paint it can sometimes mean they are seeking salt/minerals and giving them access to a salt/mineral block can help with that. It won't stop them chewing cords or corners but if they are chewing wallboard or doors, it is sometimes for the salt.
