    Sudden humping behavior

Thanks, JBun. I hope you are correct. As long as the extra "attention" is amorous, as it appears to be judging by how quickly they are grooming/snuggling/eating together afterwards, then it should be OK.

    Sudden humping behavior

Haha yes, for sure Kimchi is neutered - we had that done last year. Ellie came from the shelter and we were told she had been spayed. She is the hump-er, so that is strange indeed! I think it may be hormonal, but am not sure if that is possible if she is spayed?

Sorry for the duplicate post ... perhaps a Moderator can remove one of them? Having issues with the RO website today ...

    Sudden humping behavior

So unfortunately, this odd head-humping behavior has not stopped. It's been over a week now (9 days!) since we left them home overnight for ONE NIGHT. Things are peaceful- there has been no escalation as far as we know - but this is still happening. They'll be laying around, and Ellie...

Meet Ellie, our new bun and friend to Kimchi!

Time for a small update. I'm keeping this thread as a bit of a journal for my rabbits on this forum. We had some humping / dominance-establishing behavior after my wife and I stayed overnight at my mom's and left the buns alone. You can read all about it here...

    Spoiled Bunny throws a fit.

Chewy would probably have some strong competition for "most spoiled rabbit" among the forum members here, mine included! It happens, and it will likely pass as Aki says. Our still get upset at times when we leave them alone (or when we don't). They get in moods, it seems to me. One thing I...

    Sudden humping behavior

Thanks for the reply, Aki. It's good to know that we are not unique in experiencing the humping/dominance-establishing behavior after the rabbits have been bonded and together for some time. It really is a relief to know about your experiences, Aki and JBun! Fortunately things seem to be...

    Sudden humping behavior

Wow, thanks so much for the thoughtful reply, JBun! That does make sense to us as well. We will certainly try the not-yet-laundered (and potentially sacrificial) garments to see if that helps. We will consider the radio as well. We do go away for overnight trips here and there, and...

    Sudden humping behavior

Hello everyone, We have a pair of buns, who have been bonded for several months now and living in bliss as far as we can tell. We brought our second one home as a companion to our first rabbit (details here http://www.rabbitsonline.net/showthread.php?t=88550 ) back in October. Although we...

Why did you choose a rabbit as a pet? What you love?

We started with one rescue rabbit (or so we thought - full story here, in my first post: http://www.rabbitsonline.net/showthread.php?t=88550 ) and adopted another rescue bun as a companion for him. My wife and I didn't have any pets, and although I love cats, I am very allergic to them. And...

Meet Ellie, our new bun and friend to Kimchi!

Oh I can't edit my post ... I was going to add: Attached are some recent pictures, including a shot of how we blocked off our (fake) Christmas tree using extra X-pen panels. You can also see the custom-order Christmas stockings that my mom had made up and sent to us and her "grand-bunnies" (we...

Meet Ellie, our new bun and friend to Kimchi!

Thanks guys. Samoth, we're in Torrance, not the Bay Area unfortunately (with respect to proximity to HRS and otherwise I would agree with you there :) ). I thought I'd update the thread here since it's been a little while. To address my own questions below, here's how it all worked out...

Meet Ellie, our new bun and friend to Kimchi!

Small updates from our little clan: 1. We have continued to try different greens with Ellie. She seems to enjoy fresh basil! Fortunately we can buy the small live basil plants at the grocery store, so we continue to do this so she has fresh greens mixed into her diet. 2. We are getting...

    Christmas trees

I love the ideas here and in the other thread! We have a fake tree that I will probably put up tonight (got lazy about it over the weekend). There seems to be two main schools of thought or approaches: the "put it up high" option, and the "fence it off" option. We will be going with the...

Happy Bunny Club (the bunny box)

Interesting concept, along the physical product "loot crate" vein. I am curious have others here (aside from lilnaugrim) tried other "box" type mail-order products before?

    Bunny keeps licking my covers?

Haha, our rabbits also lick and dig on the dining room chair cushions, to the point that they have licked, dug and even chewed holes in many of them. We flip them over when we have company over for dinner!

Meet Ellie, our new bun and friend to Kimchi!

LOLOL My wife occasionally sees me doing this and says, "I'm not sure what you're looking for in there, but all you'll find is sh*t." :bunnybutt: :litterhealthy: :roflmao: Regarding the veggies, Kimchi is a pretty adventurous eater. We also bought a live basil plant, since...
