I would also recommend putting them in the oven for at a very low temperature for about an hour, just to kill any bacteria. I did the same with my hamster.

I've been recommended black oil sunflower seeds. I also have an underweight bun. Doing research, it looks like the benefits outweigh those of feeding raw oats. The normal dosage is 6 seeds a day but I'm trying to research if it's fine to feed more since my girl is really underweight. I know...

I'm seeing that you should only feed 6 seeds a day. Would you recommend keeping the dose the same, even if she's underweight? She's going back to the vet after her spay is healed but I could not get her in for another couple weeks.
