    Hay brand questions

    My bunnies love this hay!

i rescued a bun, my besty HATES her. i have no idea what to do.

It can be really disturbing to see your normally sweet and snuggly bunny turn violent! Before I experienced that, I also had no idea that my rabbit had that in them and it made me so mad. Kind of still does. I have a bonded trio and recently the neutered buck went after one of the girls, made...

Can rabbit use tidy cats breeze litter pellets?

I should have mentioned I still put hay on top and their hay feeder is above the tray, so clean hay falls on it too.

Can rabbit use tidy cats breeze litter pellets?

I'm interested in the cat litter outcome too! To cut costs, I use yellow straw instead of hay in the litter tray. It's a lot less money for stuff that's just going to get peed on and tossed.

Advice needed on baby bunny care!

Cute bunnies! They may be eating some of the blackberry poops (called cecotropes or caecotrophs) directly from their bum as that is what adult rabbits do. Too many left around, as others have said, is an indication their diet is too "rich" and not fibrous enough. I use oxbow garden select young...

Question about baby buns 5 months old

Sounds like, if they also had normal round poops, that it is their cecotropes that were too soft. Do you ever give them fresh greens? Sometimes I see super soft and smelly cecotropes if I give my bunnies too much fresh greens or a fresh veg that their tummies don't like. I don't know about the...

Is my rabbit pregnant? What to expect?

Well done! In addition to checking their milk bellies, you can check their umbilical cords to make sure none of them are infected. You don't have to do anything if they aren't. Sometime between 10-14 days their eyes will start open. When I started with my first couple litters I didn't know...

Will a six year old male rabbit breed?

Prieitler is right. Unfortunately, rabbits who aren't used to each other don't really play together. They will smell each other and possibly chase each other around (my little kids call it "playing tag" which seems cute, but bunny tag always ends the same way and it does not take long). They can...

Is my rabbit pregnant? What to expect?

Congratulations Mama! You'll probably get conflicting advice on this but I always check on them. If your rabbit is used to your smell it shouldn't cause any problems if you handle them, make sure there aren't any cold ones. If you find a "cold" (dead) one you can always try to warm them up too...

Is my rabbit pregnant? What to expect?

Sounds like she has decided where she wants to have those babies! Are they inside/outside? If they are inside, and protected from weather, not so much of a concern to just let her do her thing. I have moved kits to a nest box after birth without issue. Just take the whole nest she makes and put...

    Poor hay quality

I have heard that there was a hay shortage in the summer, my sister who lives in a rural area in the US said all her neighbors were short on hay for their livestock. Maybe it's a trickle down from that and there were some bad boxes. I need to get a refund on a bad box too from chewy. Stringy...

4mo bunny showing newfound affection towards me

She could be pregnant, though four months is pretty young. She might also just be missing her bunny family and needed snuggles.

    Flooring Recommendations?

I have used rolled vinyl flooring from home Depot and it's worked really well. It's one continuous piece, so no edges for them to chew. I'll have to look into the flooring store option for free remnants. Free is always and nice alternative!

    Rabbit Breed Help

He looks a lot like one of ours too. She is a smudgy orange false dwarf Holland lop. I call these ones "farm rabbits" bc the don't posses the favorable show bunny traits. IMO, When you compare with bunnies who have been line bred to produce the compact faces and shorter lopped ears, these ones...

    Bonding?

I have a trio, two does and a neutered male that are all bonded and live together with babies from both does (some 9 weeks and some 11 weeks--we are holding for buyers for Christmas). The only times we have had problems were before our big buck was neutered...when a junior buck got too old...

Is it okay to change the layout of his exercise pen?

There is a lot of information out there. I think it is helpful to pick a potty training plan that you think is doable for you and just stick to it. It will take time, especially until he is neutered. Bunnies, like many animals, use their pee and poop to mark their territory. Once he feels...
