Advice on rabbit housing during a vacation.

My sister watched my 2 bunnies at her house when I took a trip a few weeks ago and they did fine. I was only supposed to be gone a few days but ended up having car trouble out of state which extended my "vacation" a few more days. Before I left, I was so worried about them that I almost canceled...

Nala's tell-all blog! Quad-bonding and more! Nala, Alice, Harley Quinn and Barnaby (aka Big Bunny).

I just read in another post that you have 3 bunnies. I thought you had 4. I'm worried about Nala now, is she ok?

Where can I buy extra x-pen panels?

Chewy.com sells extension kits: https://www.chewy.com/midwest-universal-pet-playpen/dp/183467. Same brand as yours but not the same color.

Where can I buy extra x-pen panels?

Good point, Watermelons! My x-pens don't have clamps, just bars bent around each other. I had a similar thought to Alyssa's in that I'm considering building a frame and then cutting apart one of my x-pens to create the sides of a homemade cage. In that case, I would use the sanding tool on my...

Where can I buy extra x-pen panels?

You can take apart a pen! You can either use a Dremel or you can buy a set of really strong clippers at a hardware store. Think big clippers, like for cutting locks or fences. For the life of me I cannot think of the name of them at the moment.

    Outdoor Hutch Ideas/Plans

I know people keep rabbits outdoors all the time but I would caution against leaving yours out at night unless you have a very sturdy enclosure like blue eyes suggested. Those x-pens will not keep predators out, so I would hope that if you do replace the 2 wooden hides with a hutch that you...

    Help!! Litter mishaps

Is your entire cage covered with bedding? That could be confusing to him. Once I removed all of the bedding from my rabbit's cage except for his litter box he started using his litter box religiously. The rest of his cage is just bare plastic. He has a fleece lined play pen and he never has...

Litterbox Trained in 3 days (pees and poops!)

I'm jealous! My bunny did well for a few weeks and then she just sort of forgot how to use her litter box and it's been a struggle for months now. I'm hoping it's because she isn't spayed yet and she'll get better about it after her surgery.

How much does a vet visit & spay/neuter cost for a Rabbit?

I was quoted $200 USD for a neuter and $250 USD for a spay. Plus a $50 USD pre-op exam.

    Question About Sunlight/Vitamin D

I don't have an answer for you but I was wondering what did your vet say?

    Peacebunny Island in Minnesota

I read the sweetest article this morning in today's issue of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. It's available online, I think you guys would enjoy it! It features a 15 year old boy who has been rescuing rabbits since he was 9 years old. He and his family have purchased two islands in Minnesota that...

Help - Bunny Tearing Up Carpet

I've got the same problem with one of my bunnies so I'm going to buy a cut of linoleum to put under their cages and play pens. I'm also hoping this will help with potty training. I use fleece blankets for now and those get chewed up too but they can't get to the carpet at least.

    Butterscotch and Goose's Bunny Blog

Butterscotch and Goose are back home now and they did really well at my sister's house for the week. They were only supposed to be there for a few days but I ended up getting stuck out of state for 4 extra days due to car trouble. My sister says that she doesn't want a rabbit now, they're too...

Meet Bella, Benny, Midnight, and me

Hello! Your bunnies are gorgeous! How do you manage with 3 bunnies? Are they indoor or outdoor bunnies? Do they all live together? I wish I had room for 3 bunnies but for now I just spoil my 2 dwarf babies.

Behaviour - Post GI Stasis Aggressiveness

He may just not like you reaching into his house no matter your intentions. Sometimes it's best to let your rabbit come out of the cage before you try to reach into it for cleaning or feeding. I don't think I would ignore my rabbit, I would let him come to me for attention and then I would...

    Bedding in the rabbit cage

I don't put bedding in my rabbit's cages at all, except in the litter box. They have grass mats and fleece blankets. When I did have Kaytee clean and cozy bedding in the entire cage they just thought the whole cage was a litter box and went potty everywhere. As soon as I started putting it only...

    Alyssa's Bunny Blog!

Yay!! I've heard bonding can take months. I really think you have a good pair, Alyssa. I have no experience to back that up but my gut just tells me your rabbits don't hate each other and they have the potential to get along eventually. I've read a lot of books and stories lately and I never got...

    Butterscotch and Goose's Bunny Blog

I know baby bonds don't count but I am so hopeful that Goose and Butterscotch will be easy to bond in a few months. They flop next to each other, they share hay through the play pen bars, and Goose is so happy to be at Butterscotch's beck and call. When she hops over to the shared wall of their...
