    Butterscotch and Goose's Bunny Blog

She is back to her old sassy self already! Now it's hard to keep her calm so she can heal. She rattles those cage bars like my house is on fire or something. I let her out today and she made out with her boyfriend and now they're having dinner together. Omg so cute.

    Butterscotch and Goose's Bunny Blog

I'm not sure if this was the right thing to do but Butterscotch was absolutely frantic to get out of her cage today so I caved. I let her out with Goose. (He was neutered 2+ months ago and her spay was about 6 days ago.) For the first time ever she groomed him! She has been such a snob since I...

    New bunny owner, spaying question

My bun got spayed on Friday and the only thing she ate for 12-24 hours was cilantro and romaine lettuce. (Aside from some nibbles of hay, but not nearly enough.) I made sure the veggies were good and wet so she was getting at least some water. As of today, she is back to her old crazy self. I...

Rabbit ate a white owl tobacco leaf!!!

I don't know what to tell you other than to ask if you can call a 24 hour emergency vet?

    Butterscotch and Goose's Bunny Blog

After spending all day yesterday huddled in her blankets, Butterscotch is a little more active today and that makes me feel so much relief. I woke up to dozens of dark colored but normal size/shape poops in her litter box. I'm assuming the dark color is because she has been eating mostly greens...

    How Much Greens After Surgery?

Good to know, thank you! I was worried about giving her too much and causing poopy butt. So far she's handling this like a champ! I have two brave bunnies, I'm so proud of them. If this were me I'd be drowning in ibuprofen and ice cream, I'm sure.

    How Much Greens After Surgery?

Butterscotch got spayed yesterday and she is home recovering now. The vet did not send us home with any pain meds so I suspect she is not feeling very good. I gave her a thick, soft, clean fleece blanket to lay on and she has a low sided litter box full of fresh hay, which I saw her in this...

Bunny obsessed with getting under bed

I bought wire shelving custom cut to the length and width of my bed and I am going to zip tie it to the legs of my bed when the time comes to allow my buns to free roam. It's a little spendy but it's a long term solution.

    Desexing my 4mth old

I think digging is normal behavior for rabbits whether they are desexed or not. I give my rabbits a large tote filled with crumpled paper, cardboard, toys, etc. for them to dig in. My vet would not spay my rabbit until she was 6 months old anyway. Maybe yours will if your rabbit is larger than...

    Butterscotch and Goose's Bunny Blog

Butterscotch is home now. She was munching hay a few minutes ago, that's a good sign. She seems to have dozed off again though, I hope she's just groggy from the anesthesia. I gave her a really low sided litter box so she can get in and out easily, I hope that helps her. Goose is sniffing her...

Vet just called....Butterscotch's surgery went well and she'll be ready to come home in a few hours! Yay!!

    Butterscotch and Goose's Bunny Blog

I just dropped Butterscotch off at the vet for her spay. I was a wreck when Goose got neutered even though he handled it like a champ but this is a much more complex surgery and I'm so worried for Butterscotch. I have her play pen and cage cleaned, her blankets washed, a fresh supply of greens...

    Sick rabbit

Can you switch to pine pellets in her litter box instead of the shavings? Or maybe just a layer of newspaper topped with hay? Just to see if it helps alleviate her symptoms. The discharge culture is a good idea too.

Where can I buy Critical Care??

Thank you so much everyone!! I can't believe I didn't think of Amazon. If my vet doesn't sell it (I'll call when they open on Monday) then I'll order some. Thanks again!

Where can I buy Critical Care??

Where do you buy your Critical Care? I've checked Oxbow's site, Petco, Chewy and Small Pet Select and no one has it. The only place I can find it is ebay. I'd rather not risk buying from ebay. Butterscotch gets spayed this Friday and I want some on hand just in case. Would my vet have it maybe...

My bunny plays with my Rottweiler, I think?

Omg that poor bunny! Thank you for asking for advice and looking out for that adorable lil bun! I have small 5 pound chihuahuas and my bunnies want nothing to do with them. I think it takes a lot of patience and training to get these two species to learn how to interact safely.

    Digging carpet

I put a sheet of vinyl over my area rug to keep my buns from destroying it. It's kind of annoying but it protects my rug. I agree with you: I love my bunnies but I love my house too and I won't allow them to ruin it.

How do you keep your hay mess contained?

I wish I had named my fawn colored bunny Marmalade! Oh how cute!! I love that name. Sorry.....off topic.

Nala's tell-all blog! Quad-bonding and more! Nala, Alice, Harley Quinn and Barnaby (aka Big Bunny).

You didn't miss a chance with a guy you really liked, you dodged a bullet. Good for you!! You're 14? I wasn't even allowed to date until I was 16. I was living with a guy at 18. You have plenty of time. I had a hard time in high school when I was finally allowed to date. My first real boyfriend...

How do you keep your hay mess contained?

Can you put cardboard between the pen and the chicken wire to help keep it contained? That works for my buns right now. This is an older pic so our setup has changed but you can see how I put cardboard between the cages and the play pen. This did a great job of keeping the hay inside the play pens.
