Annabelle passed away at the vet

I'm so sorry for your loss :(. The thing about GI stasis (which she did technically have when she died) is that it's not actually a diagnosis - it's a symptom. One of the main causes is pain, which rabbits instinctively do their best to hide until it becomes overwhelming. The kind of cancer...

    Bald and black spots

She could also just be over-grooming them if they don't seem to have any of the issues Preitler mentioned... can you post some pictures of the spots so we can get a better look? As a note, it's time to separate them from their mom (and each other by gender) if they're closing in on 12 weeks old...

Where can i advertise my bunnies for sale with no ad fee?

Trying to remember places that I advertised to give away an "oops" litter of hamsters many years ago... ebay classifieds and hoobly are two I remember off the top of my head. You can also do a google search for pet classifieds and bring up numerous animal-specific sites that don't cost anything...

    The Duality of Stinky

I absolutely LOVE her name!! After seeing her picture, I can't help but wonder if there's something bred into harlequin lionheads that gives them a big ol' rabbit 'tude and makes them great at giving you a stink-eye... because both Stinky's picture and her attitude strike me as awfully...

How do I know if my rabbit is depressed

I missed the edit deadline... but I forgot to mention a couple other very popular dollar store toys! Plastic slinkies and hard plastic baby links.

    Pee Pee Tummy

When you shampoo him, I hope you're *only* giving a "butt bath" (getting the affected area), as getting too much of him wet can be dangerous or even fatal. On the occasion I've needed to give a butt bath, I've always used Dawn dish detergent (the stuff they use to clean animals after an oil...

    Rabbit diet help!

https://rabbit.org/faq-diet/ and https://rabbit.org/suggested-vegetables-and-fruits-for-a-rabbit-diet/ are my recommended reading for anyone with diet questions. That said, it sounds like you've got him on a great diet (in line with the recommendations on the HRS site). The main critique I...

    Need adopted ASAP

Oh, man, poor bunnies. One thing you might do that wouldn't come across as too bossy (I'm like you, I'm very reluctant to tell a stranger they're wrong even when it's true) is politely recommend that if she wants any help/advice on how to care for the unexpected babies, she should check out...

How do I know if my rabbit is depressed

Since they weren't bonded very long at all, chances are she won't really get depressed over the loss... and even if she does, most rabbits bounce back from a loss pretty quickly (even after being bonded for years). Based on her behavior, I'd say it's more likely that she's bored than depressed...

    Feeding too much???

Cats and rabbits always act like they're starving in hopes of getting "better" (junk) food :P.

    Three new fosters.

Zip-tying posterboard or cardboard or something around the top of the pen also works - they get to a certain height and there's no more bars to grab onto. Worked for Nala when she used to climb 48'' x-pen fencing.

What will happen if my bunny has had too much sugar?

There's nothing inherently wrong with dried fruit if it doesn't have extra sugar added... just bear in mind that dried fruit needs to be measured as though it were the fresh counterpart. In other words, one raisin = an entire grape, etc. HRS guidelines allow up to 1 tsp fruit per 2 lbs body...

    Too fat or too thin?

We have a bonded pair consisting of a californian boy (8 lb rabbit prone to obesity because the breed originated as meat rabbits) and a blue eyed mismarked dutch girl who was marginally underweight when we got her (less than 4 lbs). They eat together and I'm generous with the greens to make...

    My little Fitzgerald

*hug* GI stasis is brutal. Sometimes you can do everything right and it still ends in tragedy (it's happened to us twice over the years) :(. With Gazzles, we had the money for a necropsy - it revealed that she had a blood clot in her intestines (unsure if the stasis caused the clot or...

    Rabbit eating puffed rice

It's okay that she got into it this once (the little bit she ate won't hurt her), but definitely don't allow her to have it in the future. Carbohydrates, including cereal, crackers, bread, grains, corn, etc. are all on the "no no" list. Rabbits are prone to diabetes and obesity if they eat...

    Feeding too much???

https://rabbit.org/faq-diet/ is what we all go by for feeding guidelines: Pellets are crack. Almost all rabbits are always trying to swindle more pellets out of you. And sugary stuff like fruit and carrot. At her age, 2 cups of pellets is enough for a 24 lb rabbit! Too many pellets and...

    Mixed clover hay

Yes, clover is a legume hay like alfalfa so it shouldn't be fed to adults (other than pregnant/lactating does) in any meaningful amount. A little bit is ok, but it needs to be a treat or it can lead to health issues.

What’s your bunny’s favorite “people food”?

I remember years ago, when we had just two each of rabbits and cats (back when it was Nala and Gazzles). I had them on the bed and got the craisins out and not only did they go berserk when the bag opened, but the cats came running too like it was cat treats only to turn their noses up when I...

Bonding Bunnies - when is bonding completed?

Aww, that sucks :(. I would reboot them with some stress bonding. I prefer the car method, but it takes two people to do safely since someone has to drive and someone else has to sit in the back with the rabbits in case they need a referee. Alternatives are using a bathtub (because it's...
