    Help! Litter training rabbit

it took me about two weeks to litter box train Bunster! There are a lot of youtube videos on how to do it, mostly keep wiping up pee and sticking it into the box, and cleaning up the accident with a vinegar/water spray to get rid of the smell. unfortunately i haven't had much luck with poops...

Poo Stains outside of Litter Box

Orrin~ lol!!! Ok i've never seen Bunster do that.. wonder if it's cause there are no does around. I'm leaning towards it being the alfalfa pellets causing him problems...

How often do you clean your rabbit's cage and litter?

Well I've stopped doing daily cleaning.. got lazy. Now I clean whenever I feel like I can't stand it anymore. For the litterbox that's about once a week.

Poo Stains outside of Litter Box

well I caught him and an uneaten cecotrope and some brownish stains in a corner today.. went away and came back and the cecotrope was gone... can you catch them in the act of spraying? do they lift up their bums? i wonder what it looks like.

Poo Stains outside of Litter Box

finally made it to the vet for a wellness exam before a spay.. found out ~ Bunster is A BOY oh my goodness. Only one of his ahems could be seen, he sucked the other in. Finally got his nails trimmed too. Don't know how the vets do it, I tried bunny burrito, everything, and he shook around...

Poo Stains outside of Litter Box

Thank you! Do you know what it could be in the diet? I started introducing veggies about a month or so ago .. I wonder if that could be it. They're kind of like skid-marks ... :/ I've put newspaper in her litterbox to try to check on her pee. Hard to see the color so far. It does seem...

Poo Stains outside of Litter Box

I'm having problem with what look like poop stains outside of Bunster's litterbox, both on the other side of her nic cube area and also in her x-pen. It seems like it could be that she's putting cecotropes there and eating them from the ground but I'm not sure why it happens, it only happens...

    Composting

why is the wood and pee a bit different? I won't be doing any poo sorting anytime soon.

    Composting

Has anyone ever used their bunny's litterbox contents for composting? it occured to me that the ingredients (wood, poop, pee) could be fine .. the tricky part seems to be getting the ratio of carbon to nitrogen right. I'm wanting to get into composting and living a more eco-friendly lifestyle...

How do I get rid of the smell!!?

I'm starting to have this problem too.. getting a little frustrated.. our den smells like a pet store. The wood stove pellets I have actually have kind of a strong smell .. I may have used just too thick of a layer this time, but I think Bunster is smelling because she's been producing some...

Rabbit won't let me clip his nails.

lol I'm very confused how you were able to clip nails when he was curious exploring?

    Carrots

How much would you allow a day? Sometimes I have carrot scraps from peeling them and would like to feed them to Bunster rather than wasting it but I know carrots are high in sugar so I wonder how much is okay to give?

Best flooring for a rabbit cage?

I'm stuck on this again. I'm getting tired of my makeshift plastic shelf liner because it moves around so much and it's getting gross on the parts that I've taped. I'm also thinking about taking out most of the tile cause Bunster slips and slides on it.. although she's not afraid of it, but it...

    Holland lop life expectancy

6-7 years?! That's so short.. :O I thought rabbits had longer lifespans than that, closer to 10... is this specific to Holland Lops?

Rabbit won't let me clip his nails.

Sigh.. I can't get Bunster to stay still either but I haven't tried moving her to a tall table ... I'm still afraid she'd freak out and jump off. I'm not able to pick her up usually and if she allows it, only for like ten seconds. If you try the video let us know how it goes!!

    Let's Get Crafty!

Maybe look up C&C cages to get some ideas? There's a youtuber PrincessPeachie who built her buns something that has levels, maybe check her out.

How do I get rid of the smell!!?

Maybe the cage needs a cleaning, not just the box? I have a very sensitive nose and Bunster is in our den which is unfortunately where all the smells congregate... so sometimes I get lazy and don't clean out her box for about a week, it does smell :/ .. but I just read that you cleaned it out...

    how to catch my bunny?

Treats/food is the only way I can get Bunster to do anything for me lol. If this is a routine, incorporate her meal time into it. We let Bunster out for play in the evening in our den, and have trained her to "Go home!" on command using clicker training techniques and pellets, she's not...
