I can't get Bunster to stay in the burrito .. he freaks out and it freaks me out!
How do you get your son to hold him? Or how does he hold him? I want to get my husband to do that ...
yes it is coarse but it has tons of seed heads and he LOVES them........... I am trying to decrease but the cute begging face oh my goodness. -_-
Thank you for the advice.. perhaps I'll do a dewormer even if he doesn't have worms? Is it safe to do that?
Can I rule out a malabsorption...
I buy mine from SmallPetSelect .. yeah it is a bit more expensive than Timothy Hay. I did find a Hay company in a nearby city that sells orchard grass hay by the bale for like $20!! (I guess for horses?) ... I might try that route sometime but I'm scared of finding bugs ESP roaches or rodents...
Sissy I totally relate ~ I also had my first rabbits 20+ years ago when I was a kid and boy have things changed in terms of the recommendations for how to care for rabbits. I'm also just neurotic, period. ... People see my setup now and think Bunster is SPOILED. It really can be...
I think my rabbit is nervous.. like.. me. lol. My neighbor's kid has a rabbit and she carries her around like a baby! She's also a very sweet kid and easy going.. sometimes I do wonder if that has something to do with it.
How did you train your buns to tolerate nail clipping? It is a fight...
Is that the only corner he scratches in? Can you block it? Tape a pillow over it?
My bun is only interested in things where he thinks there could be food... I wonder if there's something particularly intriguing about that particular corner for your bun.
My bun actually prefers his water bottle ... he is so weird! Maybe because it is right where his hay is. He moves his neck in a weird position to drink from it. Should I force him to use a bowl?
i'm not sure how true this is but i read somewhere that rabbits discipline the young ones by pressing their head down. I have done this with bunster (gently but enough force so he knows i'm doing it) and it seems to work to reestablish that i'm the boss and that he did something wrong, cause he...
Thanks Hermelin. We're down to just the oat hay and grass hay... still smearing.... really hoping this works. Really want to free roam him but can't with the smearing problem as it's just far too messy
I'm basically having this problem..

Been this way for maybe a year now... probably started when we started introducing veggies. Initially I thought maybe it was pee but I am 99% sure it's cecotrope smearing. We already...
how risky is a neuter procedure?
there's a vet here who can do it, she says she's done a lot of rabbits before but that there's always a risk.
exactly how risky is it? are there stats anywhere on how many die from this kind of procedure?
Can't speak personally but I've seen it done. Check out Instagram famous CoffeewithSmudge, who besides being ridiculously adorable and uncommonly easily to handle, has a dog friend https://www.instagram.com/coffeewithsmudge/?hl=en
