    Twofold question here.

Ok, let me start with please don't judge, we are doing the best we can. I live in an area where there are no bunny vets for miles in any direction, and both our vehicles have broken down. We have a baby that has walking dandruff. He does not have interaction with my other two, but I've been...

    Hutch question

We're working on the bunnyproofing still. The studio is primarily a fiber arts studio, so there is a lot of equipment in there such as weaving looms, Japanese braiding stands, spinning wheels, and tons and tons of yarn. Most of the equipment is wood, and I am unsure what it has been treated...

    Hutch question

I can't afford anything bigger right now, nor do I have the space for anything bigger. They have free roam of my studio and aren't in the hutch really except to sleep. Our dogs and cats aren't allowed in the studio, for the safety of the rabbits. For the same reason, the rabbits do not go out of...

    Hutch question

The first link actually goes to sexing guinea pigs lol. But the second link worked. I thought the hutch was actually a good size for two Holland lops? 62" long by 18" deep by 34" high. They're really only in there to sleep or if I'm not home.

    Hutch question

For those who use hutches: we just got this one and put it together yesterday. The buns and I love it, but though I've put their water bottle on the mesh, I don't feel like it's really meant to go there. The mesh isn't stiff enough, really, for even the small bottle I'm using. I'm wondering if I...

    Pellet question

The cost issue was only in regards to getting UK brands here in the States. When I looked up those brands, the shipping alone was ridiculous. For one that I saw, a five pound bag was $40, and the shipping was double that. That was when I realized those were overseas brands and not available here.

    Pellet question

Is there one showing other US foods? All of the really good ones are prohibitively expensive for me to get in the States. The only decent one listed that is available to me is Oxbow. I'm curious if there are any comparable to Mealberry, Burgess, Beaphar...none of which I can get.

    Pellet question

Darn...I got a better look at my Sekect Series bag just now and you're right...it IS Manna Pro. Looks like I'll be returning that!

    Pellet question

Ok, so, I got my degree in veterinary technology, but what that means is that not much time was spent on exotics. I know how to figure out the best foods for dogs and cats, how to read the ingredient list and what it should contain in what order, but I don't know how to do the same for rabbit...

    Creating a bond

Bragi let me pet him yesterday and didn't run away!!!! He didn't stick around for cuddles, but neither does Loki, so that's still good progress in my book!!

Rabbit Vets near North East North Carolina?

Raleigh has a number of rabbit savvy vets. Does that help?

    Loki and Bragi

These two siblings are Holland lops Loki and Bragi. They're 11 weeks old, and will be getting gendered in two weeks. For now, though, Loki "feels" like a girl, and Bragi like a boy, so that's what I'm rolling with for now. Loki came home with us two weeks ago, and settled in so quickly that we...

    Creating a bond

Help! I got my first Holland lop two weeks ago. When we went to get a bunny, the owner opened the hutch and 13 baby bunnies ran to hide. The fourteenth stood her ground. She was curious and friendly and wanted to know what was going on. She rode home happily parked on my shoulder. She runs...

    Keeping cages neat

LOL, I like your mom's viewpoint! The towel didn't work out very well either. With nothing in the cage, though, it seems as though there is a lot more fecal material that maybe is more obvious now that the bedding is gone, but between the two of them, I hate the idea of them lying on/sitting on...

    Questions, questions, questions

I didn't think of the cecotrophs. Okay, that may be what I was seeing. I also didn't think of the salt-related angle, as Snooki doesn't lick me at all, and though they have a salt lick in the cage, neither of them bothers with it at all. I think they sampled it when I first put it in, and...

    Dogs and buns

Having read all these opinions, I think I'm going to err on the side of caution and keep the dogs away from the rabbits. Many thanks for the responses!

    Dogs and buns

That's why I said the Sibe and the Mal were on a "never gonna happen" thing. I thought the Lab and the Shepherd might be ok, but yes, they can live happily and separately.

    Dogs and buns

That's the thing with Vanir; he's young and excitable. He's also extremely vocal, so when he goes up to the cage he's woo-wooing and grumbling and occasionally paws at the cage. He also licks them through the bars, which freaks me out a little--I don't know if he's showing affection or tasting...

    Dogs and buns

Thanks! I will look for the book...I know I looked at their website before adopting my two, and it stated that they absolutely would not adopt out to anyone with dogs, but I'd seen pics of dogs and buns together fairly often, though never an Arctic breed of dog, or any other with high prey...
