    Fostering

Just walked out to find one of my girls sat outside the door, watching and waiting. Got an absolute death stare. SHE KNOWS. It’s the most terrified I have felt in a long time haha

    Fostering

One of the ladies who co-ordinates the fostering suggested fostering a baby bun, in the hope it would cause less disruption to my two. Within a couple of hours of me agreeing, here we are... This little angel was found dumped in the road yesterday and almost got run over. Not quite a baby...

Brushing - When are you done?

*their way. Just correcting my own grammar, it’s bugging me. Must have been tired 😬

Brushing - When are you done?

I try to brush my girls a little each day. One tolerates it, but isn’t really a fan (she used to hate it, but is coming round). The other loves it, but still won’t hang around for very long. So I brush until they’ve had enough and let them be on there way. I have seen some advice to set...

How much power does a rabbit have?

This bunny sounds so menacing 😂

    Fostering

Yes I was also thinking that I’d have to do that to be on the safe side!

    Fostering

Well that sounds like you had a positive outcome! (minus the initial scratching). As you say, I wouldn’t really know how my buns would react until it happened. I’m assuming one would be a bit of a jerk about it, just not sure to what extent 😬Equally, she may prove me wrong and not be the...

    Fostering

So I’m really considering this again. We don’t have any rescues or shelters here. Any buns who are taken from whatever horrible situation they are found in have to go to a foster space, as there are no other options, or the person that found them has to keep them until they can be adopted. We...

Is Ice Safe For Rabbits To Eat?

    What a good idea!

    Stretching or belly pressing?

Another thing that really helped to get my bun eating again were these: https://www.kaytee.com/all-products/small-animal/hay/timothy-hay/kaytee-timothy-cubes Obviously will depend on whether he likes them or not, but my buns love these as much as banana, so when I was trying to get her eating...

    Stretching or belly pressing?

Awww poor bun! Well done you for getting him to the vet in time. Agree with @Mariam+Theo and also try gently massaging his tummy if he’ll let you. It will help to relieve any gas pain which will help him eat and hopefully he’ll find it relaxing too. He won’t be feeling himself for at...

    Stretching or belly pressing?

Hope your bun is ok! And good work on picking up on his signals. Keeping my fingers crossed, keep us posted!

    HELP gi stasis recovery worried

I was the same, it’s hard to know what to do for the best! The advice I received on this forum got me and my bun through it though (more than the advice from the vet in fact), so never be afraid to ask on here. Keep us posted with how he does! Wishing him a speedy recovery!

    HELP gi stasis recovery worried

If he was eating ok before, the syringe feeding might be stressing him out a bit (unless he enjoys it, for my bun, it was counter-productive). Hopefully by now he’s settled down a bit and had a little something on his own? My bun will never eat if she’s stressed, so during her recovery...

    Flopping over? Is this normal?

Sounds like a happy bun to me ☺️

    HELP gi stasis recovery worried

I feel for you, it’s very stressful. When one of my girls had stasis a couple of months ago she was doing great for a couple of days and then backslid and I had a few days of figuring out the best way to manage her as she was obviously still in come discomfort at times. Belly rubs worked great...

How do I brush a rabbit that hates it?

Have you tried doing it on a counter top? If my buns can see a way to escape, they will, so that’s where I have to do anything they don’t like (meds, nail trimming etc) as I am able to control them better. If I do it on the floor or try to put them on my lap they will make a dash for it or...
