    Dewlap removal?

How does her spine feel when you stroke her from ears to tail? Can you easily count them? What I see on the picture is that she's very wide, with the body type my rabbits have that would mean quite some fat. For comparision, my most well nourished, fat, spayed girl Dotty in the picture below...

    Dewlap removal?

Can you post a picture of your girl? Some of mine have huge dewlaps, at least Ruth has, I kinda think they change with hormone levels to some degree. Other than bald patches in the folds I've never seen that causing problems. Never heard of such a proceedure either, imho there are quite a lot of...

    dead babies

Well, this can happen, for whatever reason. One of my does had a similiar litter, 15-16 discernable kits in seemingly different stages, all dead, one big mess. She was 5yo than, and I retired her not wanting to risk such a thing again, but she accidentially got pregnant at age 7, 4 kits then...

My 9month female bunny gave birth to babies. What do I do?

Well, at least the bucklings might need seperate cages when they hit puberty, I normally keep the girls with their moms for up to 5 months, they need some space though.

My 9month female bunny gave birth to babies. What do I do?

It depends, if she's just ripping it apart it doesn't matter, if she's actually eating a lot of it that can become a problem. My approach is to distract them, give them something to satisfy that urge to go to work with their teeth. I give them fresh branches to gnaw on, - willow, forsithia...

Bunny third eyelid visible when grooming

I would say that's rather normal, that this isn't anything unusual, or even worrisome.

My 9month female bunny gave birth to babies. What do I do?

If keeping the basket maybe add hay or a paper lining or cardboard floor if there is the risk that little feet get stuck in the weave. Looks like there might be the risk of tipping if the doe steps on the rim (stuffing hay around on the outside could fix that if it's an issue), and it looks like...

    Cage adjustment or help please

Maybe putting a cardboard box on top and fix it there with cable ties or such? You could cut off most of the top half and fix a ramp to get up and down?

    Cecotrophes

My 2 cents: They don't need it, but hey can indeed grow faster that way, which often actually is the goal when raising rabbits. Hm, those american measurements ;), that would be 60ml, ca. 45g of pellets, doesn't sound so much. I feed less, about 3g per lbs of rabbit (mine are around 9-10 lbs)...

    Cecotrophes

Most times you wont see them eating their cecos, imo they rather do it privatly because they are pretty vulnurable in that moment. If you find cecos laying around most times the reason is that he produces more than he needs, which often is caused by a too rich diet. How much pellets do you feed?

    Rabbit not eating

Whenever one of mine isn't eating I first make them move, some minutes every hour, and give belly massages (most times I put the rabbit on my leg, facing me, and rock the whole rabbit). i try to entice them to eat by offering their favorite weeds, greens and hay, with some it works to hold it...

    Accidental litter

With six, I don't think you have to do much. Happy fat kits though :), they look fine., About handling, after the initial thorough checkout I don't disturb them much as long as they are wigglers, babys need sleep and rest. After a week, when they are popplers I think it starts to pay off to...

    Accidental litter

Just give her some privacy around dusk and dawn for nursing, some of my does do not nurse when I'm around. An instinct to protect the nest. I check and clean the nest after kindling, then I just put my hand on it to feel if everything is ok, I don't take them out much the first week. You only...

How to treat a rabbit bite?

The things rabbits get vaccinated for (Myxo, RHD) don't affect humans. There imho is no rabies vaccine for rabbits, and infected rabbits don't survive long, 3-4 days. I consider getting nipped, to the point of bruising, rather normal. Some of my rabbits are not holding back when they get angry...

    Need help identifying greens

The thing with dandelion is that the leaf shape can vary a lot within a population. If it tastes different (Yes, take a bite of each and chew it) it could be some kind of sorrel, although it looks different to what grows over here, the leafs look thinner and smoother. Sorrel is not good rabbit...

    bunny screamed:( (RIP)

Oh, I'm so sorry. I don't think there was anything you could have done, my guess is that it was something like a congenital heart defect, or something like it.

    bunny screamed:( (RIP)

That would be an unusual reaction to pain, normally they just go quite, loaf up somewhere in a corner or hiding spot, and don't draw any attention (would otherwise be first on every predators menue). Acute pain, like an injury, makes them look startled, shocked. I guess that's why many old folks...

    New to rabbit husbandry

Hi, about getting a litter, there isn't that much to do. Is it already obvious that she is pregnant, how do you know? If it is plainly visible, give her a nestbox now. There is no hurry to remove it, I keep them in for months, my does nurse the kits in there. Just give her rest, privacy, and...

    Bunnies living together.

I keep all my does at least in pairs, usually I had 2 pairs of intact does, now it's a quartet, and my buck and his spayed cuddlebun Dotty are my free range house bunnys. It's all about individual characters, if those aren't a complete mismatch does can live together happily. I had one dominant...

    bunny screamed:( (RIP)

Hm, to me this sounds somewhat unusual, in my experience screanming is solely for defense when an attacker, real or presumed, is very close. Like, some kits are just screamers, when I take them out of the nestbox, it's rare but some are that way. My first buck screamed once - when a fox attacked...
