    Urgent help

Just back here for your update, wondering what the blood test showed, and if your rabbits are still doing well?

    Hello!

Congratulations! She's adorable 😍 With those cheek and head tufts, along with her semi lopped ears, probably a lionhead, and mini lop or Holland lop mix. They're popular rabbit breeds and the most likely combination to show these traits. But other combinations could be possible instead.

    Bunny having health problems :(

It's definitely not just a cat issue. I've had 3 rabbits that had it. And you can see in the articles I posted above that it's a known medical issue with rabbits. Which leads me to believe that maybe that vet isn't particularly knowledgeable about rabbits. If you have other options for a...

    Bunny having health problems :(

If he hadn't been with you for the last 6 years, and with no previous poop issues, I would have said there's a good chance it's megacolon. It's a digestive disorder that 'charlie' colored rabbits can be born with. That's pretty much what a megacolon rabbits poop can look like, and your rabbit...

    Bunny having health problems :(

Has he had a blood test to check kidney and liver function, or any xrays? I'm presuming the vet ruled out coccidiosis with the fecal test? Is the odd poop his cecotropes only,, or is it both the fecal poop and cecotropes? How long has he been with you and did the problem only start 3 months...

    Good clippers for rabbits?

You could always find out what rabbit vets use. Probably more expensive, but likely the best kind. Other than that, maybe look into what angora rabbit breeders use. They're the only other rabbit people besides vets, that might use clippers on a regular basis.

    Urgent help

Make sure that the 'knock(ing) them out', isn't actually ivermectin toxicity that's happening. When treating intestinal parasites, there can be 'die off' symptoms that will most likely show as lethargy, upset stomach, reduced appetite, and possibly some signs of edema. But I'm not sure if die...

    Urgent help

That would be amazing if this does actually work and the rest of your rabbits end up surviving. I'm anxious the hear if Indi continues to improve. I am just going to add a note of caution with the ivermectin. Horse dewormer paste is meant to treat large animals that are hundreds of lbs. So...

Rabbits are clean? Not this one 😭

If you could get a short video of her trying to groom and having difficulty balancing, and post it here, it might help to determine what's going on. This could possibly be a health issue, or she may just be an awkward bunny. I've had a few that would just tip right over while trying to groom...

    Rabbit weight loss

A molt and GI issues can cause some weight loss, as a rabbit usually has a GI slow down and so isn't eating their normal amounts. Her regular diet is just timothy hay, nothing else? If yes, how long has she been on this diet? Is the hay a new batch? Is it the same cutting as usual (not a...

Rabbits are clean? Not this one 😭

No signs of arthritis? That would be the simplest explanation for the balance issues and also not wanting to go in the litter box. Does she use a litter box at all, or has she ever used one? Are the balance issues something that's new? Is it just while she's trying to groom, or does she have...

    Urgent help

I'm so sorry 😞 Mosquitoes are certainly possible, and this happening when the bird came is just coincidence. With your remaining rabbits outside, if you don't have window screen up on their enclosures, that may be something to consider doing. It will stop the mosquitoes, in case this is...

    Urgent help

I'm very sorry for your loss and that this has happened to you and your rabbits. Unfortunately this sounds like it could be calcivirus (RHDV), particularly if your rabbits weren't vaccinated for it. The bird would be the likely carrier of the virus through contact with an affected rabbit in...

Emergency vet won't take bunny -- she has a cold :(

Is it significantly impeding her ability to breath adequately? If not, I wouldn't stress her and just leave it. As the medication gets to working and the discharge starts clearing up, she should gradually be able to clean off the old discharge on her own with her daily grooming. If she's not...

Rabbits are clean? Not this one 😭

If you mean her hind end is getting urine soaked or soiled from poop, neither is normal and isn't from a lack of proper grooming. It usually means there's an underlying issue that needs correcting. If it's just that she's peeing in a certain spot outside the litter box and sitting in the...

Emergency vet won't take bunny -- she has a cold :(

If you were feeding a handful of spinach or other high calcium/oxalate greens every day, or you had a bladder sludge prone bun, then yes, it might be a problem. As long as you aren't seeing too much calcium sediment in the urine, and you don't have a bun prone to bladder sludge or kidney...

Emergency vet won't take bunny -- she has a cold :(

The only cold meds that I know of being used for rabbits are the mucolytic bisolvon (bromhexine hydrochloride) syrup in the UK, and the antihistamines benedryl (diphenhydramine) and piriton (chlorphenamine). Liquid benedryl (diphenhydramine, no artificial sweeteners) is the only one of those...

    Rabbit Abscess

Like I said, I have no experience with it, so I have no idea. I just remember reading personal posts on various rabbit forums, about it being used. You would have to do some research to find those personal accounts of rabbit owners using it. You could also ask your vet about it.

    Rabbit Abscess

Manuka honey is mostly for wound management after the vet has cleaned out the abscess, and with the rabbit also on the proper rabbit safe antibiotic. https://www.medirabbit.com/EN/Skin_diseases/Bacterial/Absc_treat/abscess_treat.htm The echinacea might be good to try in conjunction with...
