    Another bunny?

A decision has been made that if we do adopt another family member, s/he will be from the shelter. The biggest reason being that Rocket could have several playdates until he's clearly bonded with someone at the shelter, and a couple other decision makers being that a store bunny isn't going to...

    Another bunny?

I'm considering adopting a second rabbit. Today, my boyfriend saw some bunnies for sale while out buying more hay, and of course they're in outdoor hutches with wire bottoms. One of them is very friendly and came to the front of the cage to get a couple pets from Kenny. Considering they're at...

Small scratch in ear. Would like a reply, but it's not an emergency.

Okay, I'll watch for that too. If I see any weird head flicking, what would that indicate could be wrong? He does shake his head, shaking his ears by doing so, in a playful way as if he's laughing or a "you can't catch me" kind of thing, either while running accompanied with a binky jump or...

Small scratch in ear. Would like a reply, but it's not an emergency.

I'll watch for any problems. (: Thanks for all the advice. He does scratch his ears pretty often, licks his toes and does it again (he also cleans his ears by pulling them down and licking them a bunch), I don't know how often is normal for scratching, but he always has, this habit hasn't...

Small scratch in ear. Would like a reply, but it's not an emergency.

It's not bad at all. maybe 1cm in length, not deep and no inflamation or discharge, just a small red scratch. Thank you both. (: I may put a tiny bit of neosporin on it, but if he cleans it off immediately after, I'll just leave it alone.

Small scratch in ear. Would like a reply, but it's not an emergency.

I assume this is somewhat common, but want to be sure and would appreciate any advice to help it to heal. Rocket has a small scratch inside one ear, probably from cleaning his ears. I checked and they are very clean, I don't think it's mites. Also, his nails were clipped recently so they...

    Wet cheek

I was very surprised by the price. When I had looked around before, the best price I found had been $58 (which I thought was quite good) though none of them seemed very knowledgeable about rabbits. I was expecting Dr. Beth Owen to be a great vet after being referred by Sue, but yes, the price...

    Wet cheek

It went very well and Beth was great. I'd recommend her to anyone in the area. I believe I already said that his eye cleared up on its own Sunday. She did a normal checkup and paid special attention to his eyes and he looks great so far as she could tell. She said that she'd write some notes...

    Wet cheek

Rocket's appointment is at 2:00 this afternoon. The problem seems to have gone away (went away Sunday and is still staying dry), but I'm still going to take him to see the vet to look at it just in case. I don't think he's been to the vet in the last year anyway. (I adopted him in November).

    Wet cheek

I was able to get a hold of Sue just now. She recommended a vet closer to me that she's been working with a lot lately. As well as a second one if she can't get him in. The second one is a little farther away and more expensive than most vets, but pretty good with rabbits. She thinks he'll...

    Wet cheek

Do you know the vet's name whom I should ask for? The rabbit shelter I get Rocket's nails clipped at also recommends this clinic on their website, but none of these say which vet to ask for, just that there is a good rabbit vet on duty most of the time.

    Wet cheek

Thank you! Seattle is only about an hour away too. :) Rocket might be going on a ferry ride soon.

    Wet cheek

Thank you very much. :) I will talk to Sue asap and call some vets. Hopefully it's simply an allergy which I had not thought of nor found as I was just now searching for possible causes. I've only had him with me since November so we have not spent a spring together yet. I will also be sure to...

    Wet cheek

Rocket has some wetness under one eye. I've dried it with tissue a couple times, but it does come back. I just am wondering if this is something normal, or something to be worried about that I can quite easily take care of or if Rocket needs to be seen by a good vet asap. It is normal for him...

"Something Special" Timothy Hay - any good?

Have you had no problems storing so much hay before? How long does it usually last? I've been storing all of his hay inside so I'm not sure whether Western Washington's high humidity is much of a factor or not. Currently all of his hay is kept in the plastic bags they came in which have...

"Something Special" Timothy Hay - any good?

Thank you everyone. :) I will not be getting the Something Special hay unless I absolutely have to. I will either order the Natures Cafe online or Kleenmama's. I have sent them an email asking about shipping costs and where their store/warehouse is so that I might be able to pick it up instead...

"Something Special" Timothy Hay - any good?

So is it any good? My bunny is a bit picky but the brand I know he likes I'll have to order online when it gets close to gone. He loves "Natures Cafe" and does not like "Kaytee" which is softer. How does "Something Special" compare to other timothy hay? I may just buy a little for him to...

    Plums?

Are plums safe for rabbits to eat? Some sites have plums in their suggested fruits list for rabbits. Others say that plums are poisonous to rabbits, but those same sites have prunes in their suggested fruit list with no explaination of why dried plums (prunes) are safe but plums are not. Thank...

    Bunny Proofing. Outlets.

Joy, do you mean covers that would not just plug the holes in an empty outlet, but like a box thing that would cover the lamp plug too? If so, I definitely want to look for this. Again, she said he's not much of a chewer, but I want to be safe and at least have these things on hand. I'm...

    Bunny Proofing. Outlets.

"those ridged, bendy plastic tubes" using these. :) I told my boyfriend that when we get the bunny they're going on the xbox controllers unless he is going to use wireless 100% of the time. He whined about it a bit, but I'm sure he'd be more upset when the cord got chewed in half. I've heard...
