Bun with "rotated" back hips (RIP)

Thank you, this means a lot. I really appreciate the help everyone has given me, it made Aspens life so much better even though her time with me was short. I just wish it could have been longer. 😔 Thank you all, I really do appreciate it.❤

Unfortunately, the vet appointment didn't go very well. I had to put Aspen down this afternoon. 😔 Thank you all so much for the help, I wish I had better news.

Okay, thats good to know. I'm glad its finally here too. I wish I would have made an appointment sooner, though I'm glad I can bring up the seizures now that I know its happening. I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow.

Bun with "rotated" back hips (RIP)

I was just spending time with Aspen, helping her get some water and food. I'm concerned she may have just had a seizure, or something that looked like a seizure. I've never experienced this before. I have no idea how to diagnose it, but she cranked her head back over her shoulder, and her back...

Throw your rabbit names at me!

Beautiful bun! I have a bun named Aspen. I also like the names, Angeline, Pistachio, Cashew, Nutty, Almond, Peanut, Nilla (Vanilla), Cookie, Anise, Sage, Peony, Bean, Barley, Pearl, Clementine, Lillian, Lady, Missy, Rory, Blossom, or Bloom. I hope you find a fitting name for her!

Or possibly hip dysphasia? When I first noticed a slight rotation in her hips months ago, I asked a friend about it who thought it may be hip dysplasia. I decided to add more tractor to her area before jumping to conclusions, which seemed to help a lot. It disappeared for a while. Not it seems...

Bun with "rotated" back hips (RIP)

I wasn't able to get an appointment for sooner, so the appointment is still on for Friday. So far, Aspen seems to be doing alright. I've been spending more time with her trying to find the root of the problem, and I think I may have ruled out a few things. Aspen still has a great appetite. I...

Bun with "rotated" back hips (RIP)

Okay, I'll do that. Anything could be possible, she was dumped so I have no idea what happened to her out there. Could it take 5 months for symptoms to show if it was from then? She still eats most of her pellets, and all of her greens. She's somewhat interested in hay, but she is eating...

Bun with "rotated" back hips (RIP)

I am becoming increasingly concerned about Aspen. Her back leg issues have become much worse in just a few days. She barely moves anymore. Most of the time I find her laying on her side with her back legs flopped to the side. Sometimes in her litter box with poop all around her like she hasn't...

Bun with "rotated" back hips (RIP)

One more question. After reading that article, it mentioned using a litter that wicks moisture away from the surface, and keeps the top relatively dry. How exactly should I do this? I am noticing that I am having that problem. It seems like as soon as he used the litter box, it get dirty and...

I got a vet appointment scheduled for her next week Friday. I'll update on how it goes. 🙂

I do have calendula cream as well, maybe if the vet appointment isn't immediate, I'll give that a try after a bath or compress. It did seem to look better after I gave her a, "dunk and dry" the other day.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful, and reassuring. You try to read about it, but of course Google only gives you the very serious issues. 😕 Knowing what it might be going in is so so helpful. I'll see about getting the urine tested, and I'm willing to go forward with what ever else my vet...

Help with urine scald, is it related to her bad potty habits?

I understand this. No one on this forum is a vet, neither am I obviously. I do plan on getting her to a vet, I am just asking if anyone with a similar experience may have a guess as to what is going on. 🙃 I appreciate your help, this is exactly what I plan on doing.

Bun with "rotated" back hips (RIP)

Sorry for being late to update this thread. I did end up starting another thread about urine scald which is her most recent issue. I'm assuming these issues are related due to her bad stance? Anyway, I posted photos in the thread linked below, so I would love your insight on that over there...

Help with urine scald, is it related to her bad potty habits?

Sorry everyone its taken me so long to update this thread. I did contact a vet and am waiting to see what they say. Hoping to get an appointment scheduled, but I'm also comparing prices since that is an issue for me. Here are some photos of Aspen's hind legs. I'm concerned that it maybe...

Help with urine scald, is it related to her bad potty habits?

Update: Thanks everyone for your help! Her potty habits have gotten much better! She doesn't have nearly as many pee accidents, but were still working on the rest. 😉 Though is there anything I can do about her urine scald? Do you need photos? The fur between her legs is matted, dry, and stiff...

Help with urine scald, is it related to her bad potty habits?

I did try a rubber mat for around her food and water as a test run. It was chewed by the next day. It did have a lip through, so a mat without a lip that was flush with the floor at the edges may work. I'll have to see if I can find one I can toss in their.

Help with urine scald, is it related to her bad potty habits?

Done, Done, and done. Thank you! Just a quick question. Not to long after I got her I pulled the blankets because she was peeing on them. After that, I noticed that when she hopped around the house, her back legs were rotated to the left almost like she was hoping in a flop position. I have...
