    Storms many cages

Hi Mrs. PBJ I have also used wooden rods to hold up my layers on my new cage (not comletely finished yet) but instead of using cable ties to hold them in place, I've just used the saw to cut a little notch out so it slots over the wire. It works great and doesn't move at all :) Jo x

New house for Cookie & Fudge

I've now bought some of the Slemka storage units (like the NIC ones) to build a cage for the girls. I've also decided not to use the area I was originally planning on but will tear out my entire computer desk (all built to fit the space by hubby lol)and build the cage there. It's wider than the...

New house for Cookie & Fudge

I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them :) I'm actually now thinking of completly tearing the whole room out and redesigning it to better accomodate the buns and also make it easier to conceal the computer cables etc. Jo x

    Naughty buns!

Thanks :) I'm learning very quickly what to hide from them lol. She's actually bitten the holes in my clothes while I've been wearing them, they both seem to like chewing and scraping at our clothes (Fudge bit a hole in my daughters PJ's earlier lol). As naughty as they are tho, I wouldn't...

New house for Cookie & Fudge

Hiya all :) I'm having a hard time working out where my buns are gonna live. When I first got them, they were gonna live in a hutch in the garden but I've now decided to keep them indoors. At the moment they're living in a large pet cage but it's borrowed and I need to give it back soon...

    Oh no!

I hope Nick is Ok Beth, Cookie has just started eating crazy things that have got me worried (see my post 'naughty buns')and it seems that when I move one thing away from them, they go for something else. Don't feel bad, I've found in the last few days that looking after bunnies is like looking...

    Naughty buns!

Now that Cookie is feeling better she's getting really mischevious. In the last few days, she's chewed through part of my vacuum cleaner cable (it was plugged in too but luckily I caught her at it), right through my telephone cable enough to stop the phone working, she's eaten 3 buttons off my...

    HELP!! Cookie's bitten her prolapse

Thanks everyone :) I've just got in from work and checked on her right away and she's doing great! The prolapse has still stayed inside (that's about 12 hours now since I cleaned her up this morning) and there's no sign of any bleeding, in fact her bottom looks nice and pink. She's lively and...

    HELP!! Cookie's bitten her prolapse

After everything going so well for Cookie yesterday, I woke up this morning to find blood in her cage. I checked her prolapse right away and it was bleeding quite a bit and had what looked like a bite mark in it. I used cooled, boiled water to bathe it then smothered it in petroleum jelly. Then...

I'm so happy........Oreo won't be put to sleep!

The vet seems confident that the deworming medicine will help alot, he said he expects the prolapse to be half it's size by saturday. His biggest concerns were that it would dry out or that Cookie would bite it but so far neither has happened which is great. Jo x

I'm so happy........Oreo won't be put to sleep!

I took Oreo (now renamed to Cookie but will explain that in a sec) to the new vet today, explained everything that happened so far and that my old vet had said he wanted to put her to sleep. I told him that for the last week she's been otherwise fine, eating, drinking and pooping ok and has...

    Prolapsed rectum........urgent advice needed

Then I think I'm gonna go with the Prep H......thanks for the tip. I'm giving it until Monday to see if I can help Oreo with this and if I can't........well, I'm gonna do whatever the vet recommends as I don't wanna drag this out for her if she's in pain just because I'm too selfish to let her go :(

    Prolapsed rectum........urgent advice needed

Thanks everyone, I'm really appreciating all these replies and trying alot of the things I'm finding through forums and the net. R.E the hemroid cream........is there a special cream for bunnies or do I just use the 'human' stuff. I seen this one mentioned alot but wasn't sure of the exact...

    Prolapsed rectum........urgent advice needed

Thanks so much everyone for your quick replies. I hadn't realised that rabbits can hide their pain and feel pretty guilty now for assuming she was ok. I have been keeping the area clean and moist, I bathe it several times a day with cooled/warm boiled salty water. I have tried to get it back...
