Umm, I found some hemp string somewhere a while ago. It's grass and stuff and my parents think it would be okay? Is that safe?

I would really like to knit (or crochet) some cute toys for my bunny, but I can't use normal DK wool because he can choke or something. Can anyone thing of some string or hemp that would't kill Harvey (my bunny)? Please help me because if I need to buy something special, I'll need it soon...
