I hate doing this and it breaks my heart but my home has come under new management and so policies changed, So I have to part with at least one of my pair, but since their bonded, they have to go as a pair for their emotional well-being. And the SPCA and rescues around here are full to capacity as there are more rabbits needing a home than there is a demand for them as pets making dumping a huge problem.

Toner is a neutered 3 yr old white and black spotted Netherland dwarf. He prefers not to be touched or handled at all but will come to you for treats and feeding. Is a great laid-back house bunny who prefers to loaf around in his preferred spots with the occasional binkie and zoomies showings and rarely gets into mischief or things he shouldn't. he's my potato bunny with how low energy he is.

Hobbes is a brown neutered bunny of unknown breeding and age. He was rescued by a woman who saw he was a super friendly bunny who got dumped in her neighborhood and asked for someone to hold him for 24 hours because she wanted him but didn't have the set up at the time for a rabbit and needed time to get it. Well, she backed out the next day and he joined the family. He is super sweet and friendly and loves to be petted and picked up and pampered with treats and brushing, he only fusses when he has to be put down again. He is also a high-energy adventuring sort who will get into any hole, crevice, etc he can fit into and has a taste for all things plastic (litterbox included). He has gotten around bunny proofing and destroyed a lamp cord, charge cables, and 2 litterboxes so far in spite of the numerous toys and chews at his disposal.

Also, I will note I don't drive due to certain reasons so I can't travel.

That really is a shame. From what you wrote, I'm guessing they allow only one rabbit (pet?), but not two? I would think that even with new management that they would "grandfather in" those with existing pets. Doesn't seem right that they would force people to get rid of pets. (Might that forced removal violate some animal abuse laws?)

If you haven't already, perhaps you could see if the new terms are for new tenants but existing tenants' situations would be on a case by case basis. They're rabbits, not dogs, after all.

they're not grandfathered in, unfortunately, But I have no set time frame to rehome I just have to show efforts are being made. But what it is the old management didn't care about pocket pets like rabbits, mice, etc., applying the pet rules only to Dogs and cats given the issues of outdoor cats, and untrained dogs hurting people not to mention the lack of care when cleaning up after them. But the new management decided the rule applies to all pets. But yes I can have 1 pet, be it cat, dog, rabbit etc. But there is a full ban on lizards and reptile pets as well as certain breeds of dogs.

We have a limit on dogs--2 is the allowed number--we did have 3 for a couple of years til the oldest (13) passed on. Our small one is 167 pounds--King Danes. Fortunately we are in a house so they can't say anything about the number of bunnies (7) we had. Cats are not supposed to free range here either per our CC&R's but several still do--if they hang out by my Hummingbird feeders, they get to meet our dogs.

our rules state in terms of cats they have to be indoor cats only, and outside time is to be leashed like a dog. And all dogs are to be leashed in the common areas and all waste is to be cleaned up by the owner. No one does any of this here which makes it harder for the rest of us. my next-door neighbor is in massive violation having a dog, 2 cats, and now a lizard (all reptile pets are banned) inspection is coming up soon so they're going to get written up if not evicted since they keep knowingly breaking the rules. In my case, the second bun was supposed to be a very short-term guest, and the woman I was holding him for figured since I was ok with a 24-hour hold just keeping him long-term was fine and just assumed I would be ok just continuing to keep him. So at least when I explained it all to my property manager they understood that it wasn't that I went out to get another bunny I was just trying to help someone out who ended up just dumping the rabbit on me, hence the no timeframe for rehoming was given.
